本发明涉及一种用于诸如纸张之类的安全基底的安全设备,其用于使得诸如纸币之类的安全票据具有防伪部件。
背景技术
通常公知的是,在纸张或其它基底中包括一般作为安全部件的细长元件。这种元件可以为例如塑料膜、金属箔、金属化塑料、金属线的细线(thread)、条片(strip)或带条(ribbon)。这些细长元件可以包含在基底的厚度中以使得对由此生产的票据的仿制更加困难。由于这些元件使得票据通过反射光的视图不同于通过透射光的视图,因此这些元件有助于票据的检验。为了增加通过包含这种细长元件所提供的安全性,还公知的是赋予元件本身一个或多个可以检验的、除了元件是否存在这个特性以外的特性。这种额外的特性包括磁性、导电性、吸收x射线的能力、荧光性、光变效果和热变色行为。
作为进一步的安全部件,已经发现尤其有利的是在基底的表面的一侧提供窗口,所述窗口在彼此隔开的多个位置处露出这种细长元件。下面描述制造含有带或不带窗口的安全元件的纸张的方法的实例。应当注意到,“开窗的细线纸”包括含有任何细长安全元件的开窗的纸张。
EP-A-0059056描述了一种在圆网造纸机上制造开窗的细线纸的方法。这种技术包含对圆网盖压印以形成凸起区域,并且使不可渗透的细长安全元件在进入一桶含水纸浆的接触进入点之前与网盖的凸起区域形成接触。其中,不可渗透的安全元件与压印的凸起区域形成密切接触,不会出现纤维沉积,并且在纸张的表面上成形多个窗口。在纸张完全成形并且从圆网盖上压出之后,水从湿纤维层中抽出并且纸张经过干燥处理。在完成的纸张中,在通常主要用作纸币的纸张的一侧上,安全元件在窗口中露出的区域通过反射光可视。
作为细长元件的替代,可以在基底的表面上施加衬片和箔来覆盖窗口或孔口。
具有在沿元件长度的窗口上露出的安全元件的安全票据的广泛使用导致获得了增强的安全性。这种类型的安全票据提供了这种增强作用,即当通过透射光显视时,安全元件提供与通过反射光观察的不同的视图,其中,安全元件的一些部分可以在窗口中容易地看到。然而,存在用于进一步增强安全部件的连续需求以使得能够进行伪造的任务变得更加困难。
US-A-5573639描述了一种安全防护细线,其中将金属条纹设置在透明或半透明的塑料基底上。可视的和/或机器可读的信息在几个条纹上延伸并且由不含金属的或者部分地不含金属的特征(其具有与金属条纹形成对比的外观)构成。
EP-A-0659587还描述了具有无须辅助即可以视觉识别的第一信息部分以及因其与第一信息部分相比尺寸较小而难以视觉分辨的第二信息部分的安全元件。有效的是,这种设计包含两组脱金属标记,其中一组脱金属标记明显地小于另一组脱金属标记。由此这种类型的安全元件提供两级验证,并且这两种设计在视觉上类似的事实增加了安全性。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于进一步增强诸如细长安全元件、箔和颗粒之类的安全设备的安全性。
根据本发明,在此提供一种用于安全基底的安全设备,所述设备包括至少部分透光的聚合材料的载体,所述载体具有多个人眼容易可视的第一标记,所述第一标记由多个较小的人眼较难可视的第二标记限定,所述第二标记相对彼此定位成使得第一标记可视。
本发明提供了一种相对于EP-A-659587中描述的构造对安全设备的防伪性的改进,在这种改进中引进了对较小标记的定位和对准的复杂的要求,以能够使得较大的标记可视。此外,当使用较小的标记来形成较大的标记时,整个设计在安全元件上占用的空间比在现有技术的细线占用的空间小。这对设计空间受限于窗口区域的开窗的安全设备是尤为重要的。
本发明还允许受控地使用有限的特征(例如银行的首字母缩写的或者票据面值)集合,所述特征集合可以被设置在安全设备上,这样即使当竖直位置未对准时,也能够具有落入各纸币上的窗口空间中的全部特征集合。这样由于给出了均匀的背景而改善了安全部件的可读性。这样,与现有技术设备相比,在受限的空间中,这种特征集合可以由此与大型元件和微型元件两者结合。
额外的优点在于本发明存在与现有技术相比更加有吸引力的视觉图像。使得安全元件对观察者有吸引力能够增加公众观察和检查设备的可能性,并且安全文件作为一个整体,这意味着安全设备具有更大的安全影响。这相对诸如在US-A-5573639中描述的视觉上复杂的设备是有利的,这种视觉上复杂的设备非常易于变得混乱,尤其是当含有安全设备的票据被套印时。根据在本发明中构造图像的方式,将不存在这种问题,并且这种较大的特征将保持易于可视。
随着现代扫描仪和台式打印装备的改进,还需要厂商增加用在安全票据上的设计的复杂性,但是这必须在不包括安全部件的公众可接触性或可读性的情况下进行。本发明提供了一种识别具有更复杂特征(其更加难以通过现代扫描装备进行复制)的公众安全部件的简单的方式。

具体实施方式
图1示出了为根据本发明的第一实施方式的细长安全元件10形式的安全设备,其用于部分地嵌入到诸如安全纸张之类的纤维基底中。安全元件10包括适当塑料材料的载体11,其为柔性且不透水,其至少为半透明的并且部分地透光,但是优选为基本透明的。适当的材料可以为PET。安全元件10设有较大的易读的标记12,该标记12由较小的标记13形成。
在图1示出的实例中,较大的标记12包括形成数值“20”的数字“2”和“0”,其中“2”和“0”由较小的、不易读出的金属化字母13构成,其顺序读作“STARCHROME”和“CLEARTEXT”。较小的标记13的尺寸通过肉眼更加难视觉辨别,然而由于标记13显然更加难以伪造生成,因此提供了附加的防伪度。然而,当眼睛注视在较大的文本上时,可以容易地看出存在较小的标记13并且识别它们。可以通过印刷传导的或非传导的、金属化或其它不透明的油墨,或者通过其它公知的金属化或脱金属工艺提供这种较小的标记13。
优选的是,安全元件10的宽度在1mm至30mm的范围内,而较大的标记12的高度在0.8mm至28.0mm的范围内,并且更优选地在0.8mm至8.0mm的范围内。较小的标记13的高度优选地在0.2mm至6mm的范围内并且更优选地在0.2mm至2.00mm的范围内。
在优选的实施方式中,对8mm宽度的安全元件而言,较大的标记12的高度优选为6mm,而较小的标记13的高度为1mm。对4mm宽度的安全元件而言,较大的标记12的高度为2mm,而较小的标记13的高度为0.4mm。较小的标记13的尺寸可以为仅仅能够通过诸如放大镜之类的观察辅助设备来分辨。
如图2中所示,较小的标记13可以选择性地包括脱金属标记。在这种实例中,载体11为金属化的以提供铝或其它适当金属的金属层。这可以通过真空淀积、电镀或其它适当的方法进行。随后,金属化载体11利用公知的方法(例如抗蚀及刻蚀方法)被部分地脱金属,以提供形成标记13的空白区域。标记可以由金属厚度减小的区域形成,如图WO 2004/014665中所描述的。
在图1和图2中示出的两个实施方式中,可以通过由诸如由Eckart出售的Metalstar油墨之类的具有金属外观的金属效果油墨来印刷安全元件10,从而设置金属区域。然而,这种金属效果油墨不必要地提供了传导性。然而有利的是,标记12/13(其中这些包括金属材料)和/或安全元件10作为一个整体提供传导特性,其能够使得可以由机器检测细线以用于验证或面值分类的目的。
在本发明中,在金属化、脱金属或印刷过程中只有较小的标记被物理制造。较大的标记通过定位和对准较小的标记而形成。由于较大字符和较小字符的字宽(stem width)存在较大的差异,因此产生具有较大和较小的脱金属字符的常规的金属安全细线会存在问题。难以优化蚀刻工艺以有效地实现细的和粗的脱金属区域。例如,如果针对细的区域进行工艺优化,则粗的区域将不会被完全地脱金属,而如果针对粗的区域进行机器优化,则由于去除了过多的金属而降低了细的区域的分辨率。本发明的优点在于由于使用较小的标记来限定较大的标记,因此可以针对较小的字符的字宽优化脱金属工艺,从而可以实现优化的分辨率。可以通过产生具有恒定字宽的较小字符而进一步优化脱金属工艺。
作为进一步的选择,可以通过用光学可变油墨(例如由Sicpa提供的OVI)或者其它彩色的不透明或透明的油墨印刷安全元件10来提供标记。可以使用一个或多个颜色来形成多色设计,例如国旗。在图3中示出的实施方式中,第一标记12包括法国国旗。第一部分14用第二标记13(即以红色油墨印刷的表示纸币面值(例如£10)的较小数字)印刷。第二部分15被留白从而完全示出了下层纸张的白色,第三部分16被印刷有与部分14中类似的数字,但是是用蓝色油墨印刷。在此为了清楚的原因示出了轮廓并且所述轮廓不是设计的一部分。
在图4中,图3的安全设备10示出为细长安全元件,其部分地嵌入到形成纸币或其它安全物品17的安全基底中。所述安全元件于基底的表面在窗口处部分地露出。
显然,任何上述油墨可以与其它油墨结合或者可以与真空淀积的金属层结合。
如图5和图6中所示,可以使用符号或图形元件取代文字数字字符作来为较小的标记13,这样分别构成了在这些图形“DLR”和“70”中的文字数字的较大标记12。
图7示出了另一个实例,其中,较小的标记13包括正的不透明符号,例如星形,这次构成了较大标记12,这也是较大星形12的符号。载体11是空白的这样标记12/13被看作空白背景上的正设计。图8和图9为另一实施方式,其中,较大的标记为12为数字“5”,其由同样为数字“5”的较小的标记13构成。在图8中,较大的标记12显示为负的金属化字符,其由形成在金属化载体11上的负的脱金属字符的较小标记13构成。在图9中,与图7类似,由空白载体11上的正金属字符的较小的标记13构成的较大的标记12显示为正的。
图10示出了根据本发明的安全设备的另一可选实施方式。在这个实施方式中,载体11被金属化并且随后被部分地脱金属以形成重复的较小标记13(数字“20”),其沿安全元件10的长度在安全元件10的宽度上密集地重复。通过由多个较小标记13显示轮廓的实心金属区域(形成数字“10”)提供较大的标记12。
在图10中,由较小的负标记13构成的较大标记12显示为正的。图10a示出了另一可选实施方式,其中,较小的标记13为空白的载体11上的金属化字符。较大的标记12通过由多个较小金属化标记13显示轮廓的空白载体11区域提供。在图10a中,由较小的正标记13构成的较大标记12显示为负的。
图11示出了与在图10中示出的安全设备类似的安全设备的实施方式,这种实施方式修改为较小标记13沿着安全元件10并且在整个安全元件10上设置。然而,通过修改较小标记13的外观以提供可视对比来形成较大标记12。例如,可以改变标记13的字体或字宽。可选的是,可以改变用于形成较小标记13的金属的密度以例如通过化学刻蚀来去除一部分而不是全部的存在于所述标记13的区域中的金属以提供对比。在另一个实施方式,可以改变较小标记的颜色以提供对比。
在本发明的另一个可选的实施方式中,在安全设备上较小标记13和较大标记12的尺寸沿安全元件10的长度变化。在图12中示出的实施方式中,标记12、13的尺寸在元件10的第一长度上从初始尺寸减小至最终尺寸直到到达一定的位置,在该位置较小标记13由尺寸略小于较大标记12最终尺寸的单线标记替代。在元件10的第二长度上单线标记的尺寸连续地减小直到它们几乎达到较小标记13的初始尺寸。在这个位置,较大标记12和较小标记13的另一个第一长度开始。第一长度和第二长度表现为彼此合并。在本发明的其它实例中,较大标记12的尺寸可以变化,或者较小的标记13的尺寸可以变化,但不是两者均发生变化。
在先前所描述的实施方式上的又一变型在于提供具有光学效果层的设备10。适当的光学效果层的实例包括液晶聚合物、液晶有色油墨层、虹彩印刷层、电介质薄膜结构。
可以使用光学效果层与脱金属层结合或替代脱金属层。例如,虹彩或液晶有色油墨层可以被印刷以限定较大和较小的标记12/13。更优选的是,较大和较小的标记12/13通过印刷深色油墨层来限定,所述深色油墨层可以包括其它功能性的颜料(例如碳黑或磁性物质),所述深色油墨层随后用虹彩或液晶油墨层被全部套印。
在施加聚合物液晶膜层、全息层或薄膜电介质结构处的情况下,优选但并非必须地与金属层联合施加。例如,在安全设备10设有全息层的情况下,可以使用脱金属层作为反射增强层。聚合物载体11首先涂布有压纹漆,其随后被压纹出全息浮凸(relief)。压纹层随后被金属化并且最终金属层被部分地脱金属。最终结构可以设有光学保护层。
在可选的全息实施方式中,聚合物膜11涂布有压纹漆并且随后被压纹有全息浮凸结构。在全息浮凸层上涂布有透明的高折射率层(例如,ZnS)。随后通过印刷不透明或透明油墨来提供较大的和较小的标记。所述油墨可以为金属效果油墨。
在另一可选的实施方式中,可以使用全息转印构造。这在本质上与上述相同,只是附加了蜡释放层和粘合剂层。蜡释放层设置在聚合物载体11和金属或漆层之间,这样在转印之后,可以去除聚合物。在与载体11相对的表面上(即与基底接触的表面上)设有热熔或压敏粘合剂层。
在另一种变化中,可以使用热变色或液晶材料,例如在EP-A-608078和WO-A-03061980中所描述的材料。
在制造安全设备10的领域,还公知的是提供附加的机器可读特性。对这种类型的安全设备10的典型的机器可读特性为导电性、磁性以及发光性。在现有技术中已经描述了多种方法来生产具有机器可读字符的安全设备。这种设备的实例可以在EP-A-319517、EP-A-516790、EP-A-998396、EP-A-961996以及EP-A-1334844中找出。
在安全设备为安全元件的情况下,安全设备可以被插入到纸张或者其它基底中,从而它们可以全部或部分地嵌入到基底中。尽管安全元件可以以全部嵌入或开窗的形式使用,优选采用开窗的形式,因为开窗的形式使得标记在反射光和透射光下都易于被识别,而不象在以全部嵌入的形式下仅仅通过透射光识别。本发明的安全元件10也可以用在如在EP-A-1141480中所描述构造中,从而元件在基底的一个表面上在窗口中露出,并且在基底的另一侧上沿其长度全部露出。
在其它实施方式中,作为细长安全元件的替代,可以将衬片、箔等施加至基底的表面上。它们可以被施加为覆盖在制造基底的过程中或在随后的切割工艺(例如激光切割或冲切)中形成的窗口或孔,这样在这些窗口或者孔中所述设备的一部分显示在基底的一侧。
标记或重复图案可以沿机器方向与窗口对准,这样可以在各窗口中看到标记或图案的相同的部分。这样要求使用对准处理,如在待审申请GB 0409736.6中所描述的。
完成的安全纸张可以在一侧或两侧上进行印刷,以识别由纸张形成的物品或票据。这种印刷可以包括与标记12或13相匹配的标记。
安全基底用于制造诸如纸币、单据、债券、护照、安全标签、证书之类的安全物品。
Claims (27)
1.一种用于安全基底的安全设备,包括至少部分透光的聚合材料的载体,所述载体具有多个第一标记,所述第一标记由多个较小的第二标记限定,所述第二标记相对彼此定位以使得第一标记可见,其特征在于,所述第一标记的高度在0.8mm至28.0mm的范围内,所述第二标记的高度在0.2mm至2.0mm的范围内,所述第一和第二标记是符号,所述第一和第二标记均为正标记或者均为负标记。
2.如权利要求1所述的安全设备,其中,所述符号是文字或数字字符或图形元件。
3.如权利要求1或2所述的安全设备,其中,所述第一标记的高度在0.8mm至8.0mm的范围内。
4.如权利要求1或2所述的安全设备,其中,所述标记具有恒定的字宽。
5.如权利要求1或2所述的安全设备,其中,所述第一标记由至少两组第二标记限定,其中一组第二标记的特征相对于第二组第二标记变化。
6.如权利要求5所述的安全设备,其中,所述变化的特征为字宽。
7.如权利要求5所述的安全设备,其中,所述变化的特征为字体。
8.如权利要求5所述的安全设备,其中,所述变化的特征为形成标记的材料的密度或厚度。
9.如权利要求5所述的安全设备,其中,所述变化的特征为颜色。
10.如权利要求1或2所述的安全设备,其中,所述第一和第二标记包括相同的视觉信息。
11.如权利要求1或2所述的安全设备,其中,所述标记利用印刷油墨形成。
12.如权利要求1或2所述的安全设备,其中,所述标记利用金属或金属效果印刷油墨形成。
13.如权利要求1或2所述的安全设备,其中,所述标记通过金属沉积而限定。
14.如权利要求13所述的安全设备,其中,所述标记由在金属化层中金属厚度减小的区域形成。
15.如权利要求1或2所述的安全设备,其中,所述第一标记的尺寸变化。
16.如权利要求1或2所述的安全设备,其中,所述第二标记的尺寸变化。
17.如权利要求1或2所述的安全设备,其中,所述第一标记和所述第二标记的尺寸均变化。
18.如权利要求17所述的安全设备,其中,所述第一标记和所述第二标记各自具有初始尺寸,在第一长度上两组标记的尺寸均从初始尺寸减小至最终尺寸,并且所述安全设备进一步包括一组由单线形成的中间标记,在第二长度上所述中间标记从小于第一标记的最终尺寸的初始尺寸减小至大于所述第二标记的初始尺寸的最终尺寸,所述中间标记的第二长度位于两个第一长度之间。
19.一种安全基底,其包括如前述权利要求1-18中任一所述的安全设备。
20.如权利要求19所述的安全基底,其中,所述安全设备全部或部分地嵌入到所述基底中。
21.如权利要求20所述的安全基底,在所述基底的至少一个表面包括窗口,在所述窗口处为所述安全设备的露出区域。
22.如权利要求19所述的安全基底,其中,所述安全设备被施加在基底的表面上。
23.如权利要求19所述的安全基底,其中,所述安全设备覆盖基底中的孔口或窗口。
24.如权利要求19至23中任一所述的安全基底,其中,所述基底为纸张。
25.由权利要求19至24中任一所述的安全基底形成的安全物品,包括在所述安全基底的至少一个表面上的印刷。
26.如权利要求25所述的安全物品,其中,所述安全基底的表面上的印刷包括与所述安全元件上的第一标记和/或第二标记相同的标记。
27.如权利要求25或26所述的安全物品,所述安全物品是纸币、单据、债券、护照、安全标签或证书。
