Description

Method, device and system for adjusting channel quality indication
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of wireless communication technologies, and in particular, to an implementation scheme for adjusting channel quality indication.
Background
In a wireless communication process, for example, in a communication network adopting 3GPP HSPA + (3GPP, third generation partnership project; HSPA, high speed packet Access) technology, a UE (User Equipment) generally reports a measurement result on an RACH (Random Access Channel) only in a Cell update or RRC (Radio Resource Control) setup message, and the corresponding measurement result includes parameters such as a pilot Channel signal-to-noise ratio CPICH Channel Ec/NO, a path loss PassLoss, and the like, so that a network side can obtain a current Channel quality status and perform data transmission Control according to the current Channel quality status. If the UE is always camped in a certain cell, it will not report the latest RACH measurement result.
In the process of implementing the invention, the inventor finds that at least the following problems exist in the prior art:
if the UE resides in the same cell for a long time and does not report the latest measurement result, the network side may not know the current actual channel quality condition of the UE in time, and the transmission efficiency may be reduced. For example, if the current channel quality of the UE is worse than the previous channel quality, but a network entity such as a base station still uses a large TB (transport block) for data transmission, the data transmission error will be caused, and the retransmission rate will be increased, or if the current channel quality is better than the previous channel quality, and the UE still uses a small TB size for data transmission, the cell throughput rate will be reduced.

Detailed Description
In the embodiment of the invention, after the retransmission information of the sender equipment is acquired, the channel quality indication parameter can be adjusted according to the acquired retransmission information and the preset channel quality indication adjustment strategy, so that the corresponding channel quality indication parameter can accurately reflect the actual condition of the current channel.
Optionally, the corresponding retransmission information may include: whether retransmission occurs, or the retransmission rate within a predetermined time, or the amount of information that is continuously and correctly received within a predetermined time, or the number of times retransmission occurs within a predetermined time, etc.
In the process of communication between the sender device and the receiver device, if the information sent by the sender device does not correctly arrive at the receiver device, the sender device will resend the corresponding information, which is called retransmission. For the retransmitted information, the sender device needs to inform the receiver device of the retransmitted information through corresponding indication information in the information. For example, in WCDMA system, the indication information may be information such as a serial number SN, and in other communication systems, the indication information is different according to different protocols, but the function of the indication information is to inform the receiving device that the information is retransmitted information. The embodiment of the invention just utilizes the corresponding indication information to acquire the corresponding retransmission information so as to adjust the parameters of the Channel Quality Indicator (CQI).
In the embodiment of the present invention, when the obtained retransmission information meets the condition of reducing or improving the channel quality indication in the policy, the parameter value of the channel quality indication may be reduced or improved according to a predetermined step length; or, when the obtained retransmission information satisfies the condition of reducing or improving the channel quality indication in the policy, the step size of the adjustment may also be determined according to a predetermined policy, and the parameter value of the channel quality indication may be reduced or improved according to the step size. Wherein:
the condition that the retransmission information satisfies the reduction of the channel quality indication in the strategy may include: the service retransmission rate is greater than a first predetermined retransmission rate in a predetermined time, or retransmission occurs in a predetermined time, or the number of times of retransmission occurs in a predetermined time is greater than a first predetermined value, or the amount of data continuously and correctly received in a predetermined time is less than a first predetermined amount;
the condition that the retransmission information satisfies the channel quality indication improvement policy may include: the service retransmission rate is less than the second predetermined retransmission rate within the predetermined time, or no retransmission occurs within the predetermined time, or the number of times of retransmission occurs within the predetermined time is less than the second predetermined value, or the amount of data continuously and correctly received within the predetermined time is greater than a second predetermined amount.
Further, the retransmission information in the embodiment of the present invention may include, but is not limited to, any one of the following:
(1) whether retransmission occurs or not (whether retransmission occurs or not on the premise of predetermined time or not) or the number of times of retransmission within predetermined time is taken as the retransmission information so as to adjust the corresponding channel quality indication parameters according to whether retransmission occurs or not;
(2) and taking the retransmission rate in the preset time as the retransmission information so as to adjust the corresponding channel quality indication parameters according to whether the retransmission rate in the preset time reaches a preset value or not under the condition of retransmission. The larger the corresponding retransmission rate is, the more times of retransmission is represented, that is, the worse the channel quality is, and the smaller the retransmission rate is, the less times of retransmission is represented, that is, the better the channel quality is;
(3) since the amount of information continuously and correctly received in the predetermined time can reflect the retransmission condition in the network, the information continuously and correctly received in the predetermined time can be used as the retransmission information to adjust the channel quality indication parameter according to the amount of information continuously and correctly received in the predetermined time.
According to different retransmission information, the processing procedure for increasing or decreasing the value of the channel quality indicator parameter adopted in the embodiment of the present invention may specifically have different combinations, for example, as follows:
the first method is as follows: the value of the channel quality indication parameter may be decreased if a retransmission occurs or occurs within a predetermined time or the number of retransmissions within a predetermined time is greater than a first predetermined value. The value of the channel quality indication parameter may be increased if no retransmission occurs within a predetermined time or the continuously correctly received information reaches a predetermined amount or is below a predetermined retransmission rate or the number of retransmissions within a predetermined time is less than a second predetermined value. Wherein the first predetermined value may be greater than the second predetermined value, or the first predetermined value may be equal to the second predetermined value.
The second method comprises the following steps: if the retransmission rate is higher than the predetermined retransmission rate (i.e. the first predetermined retransmission rate) within the first predetermined time, the value of the channel quality indication parameter may be decreased. The value of the channel quality indication parameter may be increased if no retransmission occurs within the second predetermined time or the continuously correctly received information exceeds a predetermined amount or the retransmission rate is lower than a predetermined retransmission rate (i.e. the second predetermined retransmission rate) or the number of retransmissions within the predetermined time is less than a predetermined value. Wherein the respective first predetermined time and second predetermined time may be the same or different, and the respective first predetermined retransmission rate and second predetermined retransmission rate may be the same or different.
The third method comprises the following steps: if the information that is continuously correctly received within the first predetermined time is below a predetermined amount (referred to as a first predetermined amount), the value of the cqi parameter may be decreased. If the information continuously and correctly received in the second predetermined time is higher than a predetermined amount (called a second predetermined amount), or no retransmission occurs, or the retransmission rate is lower than a predetermined retransmission rate, or the number of times of retransmission in the predetermined time is less than a predetermined value, the value of the channel quality indication parameter can be increased; wherein the respective first and second predetermined times may be the same or different, and the respective first and second predetermined amounts may be the same or different.
In the adjusting process for the channel quality indication parameter, specifically, but not limited to, the value of the channel quality indication parameter may be increased or decreased according to a predetermined step size according to the retransmission information, for example, each time in each adjusting process, the value may be increased or decreased by 0.1dB, 1dB, or multiple dbs, and so on.
In the embodiment of the present invention, it is generally required to increase or decrease the value of the channel quality indication parameter within a predetermined range. For example, when the value of the corresponding cqi is already at a maximum, the value is not adjusted any more even if the condition for improving the cqi is satisfied; otherwise, when the value of the corresponding cqi parameter is already at a minimum, the value is not adjusted even if the condition for decreasing the cqi parameter is satisfied. Furthermore, if the current cqi exceeds a predetermined maximum value or minimum value, the cqi may be adjusted by directly using the corresponding maximum value or minimum value as the current value. For example, if the corresponding maximum value is 22, and the original CQI is > 22 and needs to be reduced by 1 unit, the CQI is directly reduced to 21.
Taking the application of the embodiment of the invention in the 3G network as an example, the value of the channel quality indicator CQI can be dynamically adjusted through the RLC (radio link control) retransmission rate, so that the CQI can accurately reflect the current channel quality. In the 3G network evolution process, HSPA + (high speed multiplex packet access enhancement) technology is introduced. The enhanced CELL-FACH function (E _ FACH) is a new function added in 3GPP R7 version HSPA +, and mainly refers to supporting the reception of HSDPA channels under the states of IDLE, CELL _ FACH, CELL _ PCH and URA _ PCH. In the technical solution provided in the embodiment of the present invention, when a UE in a CELL-FACH (common downlink transport channel) enhanced state resides in the same CELL for a long time and does not actively report an RACH (random access channel) measurement result, an RNC NodeB (base station under RNC) may dynamically adjust a CQI value according to a current RLC retransmission condition, so as to improve data transmission efficiency. That is, in a 3G network introduced with the HSPA + technology, specifically, the RNC is used as a corresponding sender device, and the corresponding adjustment process may be completed in the RNC or may also be performed in the NodeB.
Namely, the current channel quality change trend of the UE can be judged according to the RLC layer retransmission situation, and the value of the CQI is dynamically adjusted according to the trend and the set adjustment step size.
Assuming that the retransmission of the RLC layer is expressed by a retransmission rate (i.e., an RLC layer data retransmission rate), the corresponding RLC layer data retransmission rate can be defined as: the ratio of the number of erroneously transmitted data blocks to the total number of transmitted data blocks over a period of time. If a data block is retransmitted for multiple times, the corresponding number of data blocks transmitted in error will be accumulated successively, and at this time, the retransmission rate of the RLC layer data will be increased. Alternatively, the corresponding RLC layer data retransmission rate can be expressed in other manners as long as it can express the proportion of data transmission errors.
After the embodiment of the invention is applied to a wireless communication system, the CQI can be associated with the retransmission rate of the RLC layer data so as to ensure that the CQI can reflect the actual quality condition of the current channel as much as possible. This is because: when the CQI is lower than the current actual channel quality of the UE, the available resource condition calculated by utilizing the stored CQI is lower than the current resource which can be received by the UE, and at the moment, the retransmission rate of the corresponding RLC layer data is lower; when the CQI is higher than the current actual channel quality of the UE, the available resource condition calculated by using the stored CQI is higher than the current resource that the UE can receive, and at this time, the retransmission rate of the corresponding RLC layer data is increased. Therefore, the CQI value can be properly adjusted according to the RLC layer data retransmission rate, so that the corresponding CQI is closer to the actual quality condition of the channel.
Example one
The adjustment process of CQI will be described below by taking a specific application example as an example, in the application example, specifically, a retransmission rate in a predetermined time is taken as an example of the retransmission information, and a processing manner of taking other information as retransmission information is similar thereto, so that a description thereof is not necessary.
As shown in fig. 1, the corresponding CQI adjustment procedure may specifically include the following steps:
step 101, acquiring the current RLC layer retransmission rate;
the current RLC layer retransmission rate refers to: and calculating the ratio of the determined number of the transmitted retransmission PDUs (protocol data units) to the total number of the transmitted PDUs in the current predetermined time period. The length of the predetermined time period may be flexibly configured, and specifically may be the same as or smaller than the adjustment period of the CQI (at this time, a plurality of retransmission rates are obtained through calculation, and the current retransmission rate is determined according to the plurality of retransmission rates, such as an average manner).
Taking a WCDMA system as an example, the current retransmission rate needs to be calculated in the RNC, and the calculation result is provided to the NodeB, so that the NodeB can perform subsequent determination and CQI adjustment accordingly; or, the subsequent determination and the adjustment operation of the CQI may be completed in the RNC.
Step 102, comparing the current RLC layer retransmission rate with a preset RLC retransmission rate threshold, and if the current RLC layer retransmission rate is greater than the RLC layer retransmission rate threshold A1 corresponding to the reduced CQI, executing step 103; if the value is smaller than the RLC layer retransmission rate threshold value A2 corresponding to the raised CQI, executing step 104;
in this embodiment of the present invention, the preset RLC layer retransmission rate threshold may include an RLC layer retransmission rate threshold a1 corresponding to a reduced CQI and an RLC layer retransmission rate threshold a2 for an improved CQI. As previously mentioned, A1 and A2 may be the same or different. In this embodiment, the RLC retransmission rate threshold a1 for decreasing the CQI is set to be greater than the RLC layer retransmission rate a2 for increasing the CQI, and in this way, the rapid decrease and slow increase of the CQI can be realized. The following description is given mainly by taking the case where a1 is greater than a 2.
103, reducing and adjusting the CQI;
the corresponding adjustment step size for the CQI can be flexibly set in dB unit according to the actual adjustment requirement. In this step, the CQI may be decreased by one step or multiple steps. In each adjustment process, the CQI adjustment step size may be 0.1dB, 1dB, or multiple dbs, etc., according to the mapping relationship between the UE capability and the CQI, and of course, other optimal values may also be selected according to the simulation result. It will be appreciated that adjusting multiple or one step is associated with the adjustment method. If the setting is to reduce a plurality of steps at a time, the CQI reduction speed can be made faster so as to adjust the CQI in time.
In addition, the step size of the adjustment may also be determined according to a predetermined policy and the CQI may be adjusted, for example, the step size calculation method may include: if the ratio M of the difference between the retransmission rate target value (i.e. the set expected retransmission rate value) and the retransmission rate measurement value to the retransmission rate target value is calculated, then the CQI may be adjusted by M steps at a time.
It is understood that the CQI may correspond to the TB block after being adjusted.
Step 104, raising and adjusting the CQI;
in this step, the CQI may be raised by one step or multiple steps. Since it is similar to step 103, it will not be described again. It is worth noting, however, that if fast ramp down and slow ramp up are to be achieved, the step size for raising the CQI may be set smaller, and the step size for lowering the CQI may be set larger. Or the number of the step length increasing each time is smaller than that of the step length decreasing each time.
It is understood that if the current RLC layer retransmission rate is equal to a1 or equal to a2 or within the interval between a1 and a2 in the determination of step 102, the CQI is kept unchanged.
In the embodiment of the present invention, the preset RLC layer retransmission rate threshold includes an RLC layer retransmission rate threshold a1 corresponding to the reduced CQI and an RLC layer retransmission rate threshold a2 corresponding to the improved CQI. It will be appreciated that only one RLC layer retransmission rate threshold (up or down) may be set.
The embodiment of the present invention mainly takes a retransmission rate within a predetermined time as an example of the retransmission information. As an alternative and simplified scheme, the CQI is decreased by one or more steps whenever a data transmission error occurs in the RLC layer (i.e., a data transmission error occurs in the RLC layer), so that channel quality variation can be tracked quickly. Correspondingly, if the RLC layer continuously receives correct data to a certain amount, or retransmission does not occur within a predetermined time, it indicates that the current CQI value can correctly reflect the current channel quality, and then the CQI may be increased by one step.
For other judgment conditions, please refer to the aforementioned description of "the process for increasing or decreasing the value of the cqi parameter", and other possible combinations, which are not described herein again.
Example two
In the embodiment of the present invention, in a specific application process, the RLC layer retransmission rate threshold corresponding to the reduced CQI and the RLC layer retransmission rate threshold for improving the CQI may be set to be the same value a, that is, the corresponding RLC layer retransmission rate threshold is set in a unified manner, as shown in fig. 2, a corresponding CQI adjustment process may specifically include:
step 201, acquiring the current RLC layer retransmission rate;
step 202, comparing the current RLC layer retransmission rate with a preset RLC retransmission rate threshold value A, if the current RLC layer retransmission rate is greater than A, executing step 203, otherwise, executing step 204;
step 203, reducing the CQI by one step or a plurality of steps;
step 204, increase CQI by one step or multiple steps.
It can be appreciated that if the current RLC layer retransmission rate is equal to a, the CQI value is kept unchanged.
As can be seen from the processing procedure of the above embodiment, even if the measurement result is not reported, the channel quality indication parameter can be adjusted according to the corresponding retransmission situation, so that the corresponding channel quality indication can accurately reflect the actual quality status of the current channel. Moreover, according to actual needs, a suitable adjustment strategy can be flexibly adopted, such as a CQI adjustment strategy for realizing fast drop and slow rise through different settings.
It should be noted that, taking WCDMA as an example, in the above steps, the radio network controller may obtain the retransmission information, the step of comparing and determining is also executed in the radio network controller, and the step of correspondingly adjusting CQI is also executed in the radio network controller. And the subsequent wireless network controller sends the adjusted CQI to the base station for the base station to use for sending data. The base station may perform the steps of comparing and determining and adjusting the CQI.
