Abstract

A piece of seating furniture convertible into a bed, having a carrier (1) and at least one carriage (2, 3) which can be moved into and out of the carrier (1). The carrier (1) and the carriages (2, 3) have strips (10, 10a, 10b) fixed on one side extending in the pull-out direction of the carriages (2, 3) as a support for a seat or bed (23, 24, 25), wherein the distance between the strips (10, 10a, 10b) is such that the strips (10a, 10b) of the carriages are located between the strips (10) of the carrier (1) when the carriages (2, 3) are in the retracted state. A covering layer (26) for such a piece of furniture has a sheet (37) and a soft layer (36) located below the sheet. The soft layer (36) has a resiliency that resists rolling so that the layer (36) automatically unrolls on the lying surface after rolling with the sheet (37). A simple and comfortable construction can thereby be achieved.

Description

Seat that converts into a bed and cover for the lying surface of such a seat

The invention relates to a seat convertible into a bed, which has a carriage and at least one sliding carriage which can be moved into and out of the carriage. Furthermore, the subject-matter of the invention is a covering for such a lying surface of a piece of furniture.

The essential feature of the present invention is: bracket and slide frame have the slat that one side is fixed on extending in the pull-out direction of slide frame as the support body of cushion or sleeper, wherein the spacing between the slats makes the The slats of the carriage are located between the slats of the carriage when the carriage is in the moved-in state.

A simple and precise guidance is achieved by providing a spacing between the slats of the carriage into which the carriage slats can engage.

Present high-grade mattresses all have two mattresses, that is, the hard mattress laid on the bottom and the soft mattress laid on the top. The mattress on top is also often referred to as a "comfort mattress". The soft mattress laid on it gives a large area of support to the human body in the sleeping position. This combination of hard and soft is considered ideal by most experts.

For hygienic reasons, a bed sheet is usually placed on the lying surface of a bed or of a bedding which can be converted into a bed. In this way, the upholstery of the convertible seat or couch can be protected.

Laying the bed sheet is a rather tedious job, as it has to be tensioned from several sides. In this regard, corresponding simplification schemes have been proposed. In particular, it is proposed that sheets, possibly padded, be rolled up on automatic rollers when not in use. These programs have also been put into practice.

Accordingly, another object of the present invention is to provide a covering which is easier to handle than hitherto existing coverings. This object is achieved in that the soft layer has an elasticity that resists rolling up, so that the soft layer can automatically unfold on the lying surface after being rolled up with the bed sheet.

The reel of the covering layer of the present invention can be fastened with a belt or the like, and after the belt is released, the reel will automatically unfold together with the bed sheet and lay flat on the lying surface. Wherein, the bed sheet can be connected to the soft layer by Velcro, buttons or similar easy-to-release connection means.

The soft layer usually consists of two materials, an upper fiber material and a lower foam material or rubber or polyether.

Self-expanding pads made of foam or similar materials are known. Such a liner is laid on the ground, for example, when camping, but it is not connected with a bed sheet. It is therefore inconvenient to place a sheet on the bed with this pad.

Further characteristics of the invention can be given from the dependent claims and from the description of the figures.

The present invention is described in detail below by means of the embodiments shown in the accompanying drawings, but the present invention is not limited to these embodiments, wherein:

According to FIGS. 1 to 6 , the seat that can be turned into a bed has a bracket 1 , a first sliding frame 2 and a second sliding frame 3 . The bracket 1 has a fixed bracket part comprising side metal brackets 4 and legs 5 and 6 supported on the ground.

The movable carrier part of the carrier 1 has slats 10 which lie on the elastic transverse supports 8 and 9 and which are at a distance from one another. Carriages 2 and 3 also have slats 10a and 10b which rest on corresponding elastic transverse slats which are supported on the ground by their legs.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 3 , one of the slats 10 b of the carriage 3 is connected to the corner piece 11 and is supported on a transverse slat 12 connected to the leg 13 .

In particular, it can be seen from FIG. 1 that the spacing between the slats 10, 10a and 10b allows the carriages 2 and 3 to be staggered and moved into the carriage 1, in which case all the slats 10 , 10a and 10b are arranged side by side. When the carriage 3 is pulled out, the angled piece 11 drives the carriage 2 along with it.

As shown in FIG. 4 , in order to realize a comfortable seat slope, both sides of the horizontal slat 9 of the bracket 1 are equipped with rollers 15 through the roller frame 14 . These rollers 15 roll on a flat material 16 with two receptacles 17 and 18 . A receptacle 17 holds the slat 10 in a horizontal position, while a further receptacle 18 realizes the seat slope.

The flat bar 16 is welded to the leg 6 and the subsequent flat bar 19 .

FIG. 5 shows an enlarged plan view and FIG. 6 shows a corresponding side view of the strip guide. Wherein, the left side of Fig. 5 is the slat 10a moved in, the right side is the slat 10a pulled out, and the rightmost is the slat 10b.

Stops 20 are correspondingly arranged at the ends of the slats 10 , which cooperate with the stops 21 of the slats 10 a when moving in and out of the corresponding carriage. When moving in, the stopper 21 abuts against the stopper 20; and when pulling out, the stopper 21 pulls the movable part of the bracket 1 to the position shown in Fig. 1 and the location shown in Figure 2.

In order to be able to move the free ends of the slats 10 a and 10 b respectively above the respective elastic transverse slats 9 , 12 during insertion into the carriages 2 and 3 , lifting elements 22 are arranged on the slats.

FIG. 7 shows the furniture according to the invention in the seating position, which has only one carriage 2 . Thus, when in the seated position, there are only two stacked cushions 23 and 24.

The furniture shown in FIG. 8 is substantially equivalent to the furniture shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 with two carriages and three cushions 23 , 24 , 25 .

In both cases, the backrest used is a rolled up roll upholstery 26, which will be described below. The pads 23 are also each provided with a projection 27 covering the upper part of the bracket.

A mattress 32 is laid on the bed frame 31 shown in FIG. 9 . The bed frame 31 is equipped with a headboard 33 having a cavity 34 . The front side of this cavity 34 can be closed with a padded cover (not shown).

The mattress 32 is covered with a cover 26 having a soft layer 36 and a sheet 37 . Sheet 37 is connected to soft layer 36 by Velcro 38 .

The soft layer 36 is made of a material which has the elasticity to allow the roll of soft layer 36 and bed sheet 37 to unwind automatically. As indicated by the arrows in the figure, the roll (cover 26) shown in Figure 1 is in an unrolled state.

Below the soft layer 36 is arranged a stretch cloth 39 rolled up together. Such a tension cloth 39 is made of a substantially inelastic fabric such as canvas in the longitudinal direction. Arrangement of this non-elastic tension cloth 39 prevents the soft layer 36 from becoming enlarged in circumference under its elastic action during and after rolling up.

Rolling up and unrolling of the cover layer 26 is facilitated by arranging a link 40 connected to the end of the cover layer 26 to be rolled up. As shown in FIG. 10 , this connecting rod 40 is connected to the cover layer 26 by a strip of material 41 .

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 11 , the tension cloth 39 ′ underlying the soft layer 36 consists of a bed sheet 37 wrapped around the soft layer 36 .

It can also be seen from FIG. 9 that the comforter 42 or bedding that is positioned over the sheet 37 can be rolled into the cover layer 26 . Only about half of the quilt 42 is shown here.

In this case, the entire subsequent roll 26 (layer 36, bed sheet 37 and comforter or bedding 42) is constructed of a very soft material. The material can be compressed to less than a third of its original volume by pressing the roll as it is rolled up and by using stiff links and non-resilient outer sides.

As shown in Figures 7 and 8, if the seat or bed and at least the visible portion of the roll 26 are covered with upholstery, the roll can be used as a backrest.

The rolled cover (roll) 26 may be placed in the cavity 34 at the head of the bed.

Various pieces of furniture can be provided with a plate towards which the roll 26 is rolled up. In this case, the rolled-up reel 26 can be bound to the plate body by the Velcro tape.

The space behind the backrest for placing the roll 26 is generally not circular in shape. The cavity in the backrest is usually higher than the roll and tapers downward. The roll is soft enough to fit into the existing cavity, although the roll is compressed by an inelastic tension cloth and stiff links.

Various modifications may be made within the scope of the invention. For example, the carriage 3 may only be provided with a board body, especially a board body made of medium density fiberboard (MDF) instead of the slats. A smaller distance then results between the slats of the carriage 1 and carriage 2 . Without the use of carriages 3, it is possible to form a transverse couch instead of a longitudinal couch, which is entirely possible within the scope of the invention.
