Abstract

Un método y un sistema para el procesamiento de concentrado de tierras raras, que permiten mejorar la eficiencia en cuanto a la recuperación del mineral y de los recursos que intervienen en el proceso. El método comprende las etapas de: a) recepción y acondicionamiento de la materia prima, en donde se obtiene un material de interés, el cual se mezcla con un primer flujo de recirculación para generar un primer flujo de material de interés; b) clasificación del flujo de material de interés, en donde el material entrante se mezcla con un segundo flujo de recirculación y se clasifica en una línea de material fino y una línea de material grueso; c) extracción de lantánidos, en donde la línea de material fino se pone en contacto con una solución promotora de intercambio iónico y con un tercer flujo de recirculación, obteniéndose un flujo de material cargado; d) precipitación de impurezas, en donde el flujo de material cargado se contacta con un cuarto flujo de recirculación y con una solución de bicarbonato de amonio, hidróxido de amonio, amoniaco anhidro o hidróxido de sodio con el objeto de remover impurezas por precipitación; e) precipitación de concentrado de tierras raras, en donde el material entrante se contacta con una solución de bicarbonato de amonio o amoniaco anhidro, hidróxido de amonio o hidróxido de sodio; y f) secado del concentrado de tierras raras; en donde el método comprende la utilización de una planta de tratamiento de soluciones residuales que recibe soluciones provenientes desde etapas de lavado de material agotado y solución gastada en las distintas etapas de separación, clasificación y lavado de material y que genera los primer, segundo, tercer y cuarto flujos de recirculación.
