PATENTANSPRÜCHE

PATENT CLAIMS
1. A method for producing a component, characterized in that waste material made of plastic, originating from the cable industry and carpet manufacture and processing in granular to powder form, mixed with cement, expanded pearlite and a plastic binder and mixed with water and cures.
2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the curing takes place in a press mold under pressure.
3. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that a heat treatment, preferably by steam, is carried out to accelerate the curing.
4. Component manufactured by the method according to claim 1, characterized in that it is designed as a fitting.
The invention relates to the production of components with extensive recycling of plastic waste, as they occur in huge quantities in the cable industry and in the manufacture and processing of carpets, especially in the laying of carpets.
The essential features of the invention result from patent claim 1. In the following, purely exemplary embodiments of the invention are described.
For the production, waste material is processed by the cable industry, in particular that which is obtained when electrical apparatus and equipment are slaughtered after the metal parts have been removed to form a granulate or powder. The same happens with waste, which arises in the manufacture and processing of plastic carpets. It is clear that other plastic material waste can also be used if necessary. The plastic waste processed into a powder or granulate depending on the intended use is mixed with cement, expanded fine-grain pearlite and a plastic binder, e.g. Sigma, possibly with the addition of lime, mixed. The mixture is mixed with water and cured according to the desired shape.
Depending on the desired properties of the component to be manufactured, such as thermal insulation, mechanical strength and specific weight, curing can take place in a mold without or using a more or less high pressure. The properties mentioned can also be influenced by choosing the grain size of the starting materials. The curing time can be influenced by applying heat.
The type of components that can be produced with the method is extremely large. For example, plates as a replacement for the no longer popular Eternit plates, insulating plates, screed floors, etc., as well as larger moldings, such as. B. Bathtubs are made.
The components produced by the process have other advantageous properties in use, they can be sawn, nails and screws attached directly and, moreover, they are practically non-flammable.
