Abstract

The estriol derivatives are obtained by etherifying the hydroxyl group in position 3 of estriol with an aliphatic organic acid; the remaining hydroxyl groups in position 16 alpha and 17ss are then converted to the corresponding ester groups by acylation by means of nicotinoyl chloride or nicotinoyl chloride N-oxide. These derivatives are useful in human therapeutics for their hypolipidemiating activities, it being possible for their oestrogen activities to be made negligible.
