Abstract

With the purpose of continuously winding strips over a tubular pipe, while avoiding the risks of the latter twisting, windings are produced simultaneously and in opposite directions in two zones of the pipe (1) which are at a certain distance apart. Each zone receives at least two strips (21, 22) (23, 24) wound in the same direction and being applied to the pipe (1) at points distributed in such a way that the resultant of the traction forces on the strips is zero. The method applies especially to the continuous production of very long spirally-reinforced pipes. <IMAGE>
