Abstract
The apparatus is intended for domestic use and serves especially for sucking air out of plastic bags which are filled with foodstuffs for freezing. A hollow needle (3) is coupled via a flexible conduit (2) to a connecting nozzle (1) inserted in the suction connection of a vacuum cleaner (I). This needle (3) is used for piercing the plastic bag (II), specifically at the point where a special self-adhesive label (4) is affixed. After the air has been sucked out of the plastic bag (II), the hole used by the needle (3) is closed by means of a covering sheet of the two-part self-adhesive label (4). The bag (II) is thus prepared for the freezer compartment. To cool the motor of the vacuum cleaner, a further bore (a) is provided in the nozzle (1) next to the bore (b) for the flexible conduit (2). <IMAGE>

PATENT CLAIMS
1: Device for evacuating plastic containers, in particular plastic bags with food for deep-freezing purposes, characterized in that a connector (1) is provided which is adapted to the suction opening of a vacuum cleaner (1) and which is connected to a hollow needle (3) via a flexible line (2) is to pierce the wall of the plastic container (II) through a hole in a self-adhesive label (4) stuck to this wall in order to evacuate the plastic container (II) by means of the vacuum cleaner (I).
2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that said connecting piece (1) is a conical pin made of rubber-elastic material, which on the one hand has a through hole (b) into which said flexible line (3) opens, and on the other hand another through through hole (a) for drawing in the air required to cool the vacuum cleaner motor.
3. Device according to one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the hollow needle (3) forms a single plastic part with the associated handle.
4. Device according to one of claims 1, 2 and 3, characterized in that the self-adhesive label (4) is in two parts and has a hole in the lower part into which said hollow needle (3) is inserted, and the hole with the upper part of the self-adhesive label can be closed again.
The invention relates to a device intended for evacuating plastic containers which are used by more and more housewives for freezing food. Although it is generally known that deep-frozen food in evacuated packaging has a much longer shelf life and can be stored for quite a long time without risk of spoilage, there is still no cheap device for evacuating the containers on the market that can be easily operated by every housewife can. So far, a small part of the unwanted air has been withdrawn from the plastic containers, usually only by wiping them off with the back of the hand, before they are closed. The invention is based on the object of creating a simple, inexpensive and effective device that is easy for the housewife to use.
In the accompanying drawing, the device and its application is illustrated by way of example. In the single figure, the number 1 shows a conical connecting pin for insertion into the suction opening of a vacuum cleaner 1. This pin 1 has two through bores. The hole a is for cooling the vacuum cleaner motor, through which the required air is drawn in when the vacuum cleaner is switched on. The hole b forms the connection for the flexible line. The number 2 shows a flexible line which is connected on the one hand to the pin 1 and on the other hand to a hollow needle 3. The hollow needle 3 is provided with a handle and, on the one hand, has a connection for the flexible line 2.
On the other hand, the hollow needle 3 has a beveled tip which is inserted through a hole in the lower part of a two-part self-adhesive label stuck to the plastic container II.
This hole can be closed again with the upper part of the label after the plastic container II has been evacuated with the aid of the device. The self-adhesive label 4 is stuck to the empty plastic bag II before the food is filled. Then the plastic bag II is filled with food and sealed. And now the hollow needle 3, which is coupled to the connecting pin 1 on the vacuum cleaner I, is pierced through the hole in the self-adhesive label 4 and the plastic bag II is evacuated. After completion of this process, the hole in the self-adhesive label 4 is closed by the self-adhesive cover sheet on the label.
