Abstract

A shuttleless loom has a reed mounted on the sley and is associated with the tape guide unit. This has an upper part adjacent to and fixed to the loom frame, consisting of a straight tape guide with a sprocket mounted in a housing for advancing the tape. An external tape guide consists of the curved part fixed rigidly to a support arm. The curved section of the guide consists of the curved inner part or track, which is a profiled member with recessed shoulders for accommodating the tapes. Replaces the rubbing friction of the known type of guide by the much lower rolling friction of the rotating elements, so that frictional heating of the control tape is reduced or eliminated.
