Abstract

A spool-carrying capsule, designed to be inserted in an oscillating shuttle with a central bobbin, for a sewing machine, has an adjustable yarn-tensioning device consisting of a tensioning spring arranged on its alteral surface, the capsule having in addn. a slider for coupling to the shuttle and having a spool-locking hook, capable of actuation by the rotation of a small lever. The yarn-tensioning spring is mounted in a posn. angularly spaced from the spool locking hook and such spring has a shape symmetrical w.r.t. its longitudinal axis. Device permits the lower thread or yarn to be removed from the shuttle spool at constant tension whatever the exact posn. of the thread resulting from the zig-zag motion of the needle.
