Description
75 Gewichtsteile Methyl-Isobutyl-Keton 100 Gewichtsteile Toluol

The invention relates to a method for treating a film-like, transparent packaging material so that it can be written on and rubberized and self-adhesive labels can adhere to it.
The packaging materials for printed matter known up to now consisted of envelopes made of paper or cardboard. The disadvantage of this type of packaging is the packaging speed, which is no longer sufficient for today's requirements and which was limited by the folding and gluing of the envelopes and the subsequent insertion of the printed matter.
Another disadvantage of the previous type of packaging is the high price of the packaging material.
These disadvantages are eliminated by the new method, which is characterized in that the packaging material is coated with a transparent to opaque layer in such a way that previously certain uncovered surfaces remain transparent.
The layer can be applied as an aqueous dispersion or in the form of a varnish, namely continuously after a lay-flat, peel-off and / or before a roll-off and roll-up device by means of decorative application rollers.
Plastic films or cellulose films are suitable as carrier films.
If this layer is applied to a thermoplastic film, a packaging material can be produced from it, which is particularly suitable for the mailing of printed matter, mailing catalogs, advertising brochures, books and all mail items that were previously usually sent in shipping boxes, bags, envelopes, etc.
According to the invention, a dispersion of the following constituents is provided as the coating agent: 100 parts by weight of phenoxy resin 250 parts by weight of acetone 125 parts by weight of methyl-ethyl-ketone
75 parts by weight of methyl isobutyl ketone 100 parts by weight of toluene
60 parts by weight of silica, particle size 1 - 8 μm.
This lacquer can be applied to an electronically pretreated polyolefin film and then dried in a heating tunnel with hot air at 80 ° C.
The treated packaging material is further characterized according to the invention in that the surface areas covered with a matt layer can be written on and / or glued on, and the surface areas left uncoated are transparent so that they can e.g. Make the addresses and / or printed matter underneath visible.
Partially opaque coating makes it possible to produce a packaging film that is made such that e.g. an order card with the address attached to the printed matter remains visible. In this case the inscribable coating is applied as a transparent lacquer.
The packaging of a printed matter in a thermoplastic film can be done fully automatically by folding the packaging material from the roll on the packaging machine, inserting the printed matter and then welding the cover.
The accompanying drawing illustrates, for example, a packaged mail order catalog 1, the weld seam 2 of the film, the address 3 underneath, the transparent, inscribable and stickable surface 4 and the opaque, inscribable and stickable surface 5.
If the carrier film consists of a thermoplastic, it can be made opaque with viewing strips by means of double-head extrusion.
By choosing a shrinkage value that is adapted to the packaged goods, it is possible to produce a thermoplastic film in such a way that the packaging is given a particularly pleasing and space-saving shape by subsequent shrinking.
