Abstract

The process entails determining, before the beginning of a series of weighings, the time span during which a quantity of material is delivered to the scales which corresponds to the amount delivered during the inherent inertia of the system when adjusted by subtracting the scales error arising from the material falling into the scales pan. A digital weight indicator (23) is operated by movement of the scales beam, which inputs the actual value into a subtractor (24) which also receives the required value from a data store (R) using punched cards. The subtractor output is connected to a comparator (25) and to a computer (34) incorporating a differentiator and multiplier, to which is connected a time input instrument (28). The process allows delivery of materials from silos by weight.
