Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Pflanztopfes und nach diesem Verfahren hergestellter Pflanztopf Zur Anzucht und zum Versand von Topfpflanzen werden vorwiegend Tontöpfe verwendet, die jedoch ziemlich schwer sind und geringe Schlagfestigkeit auf weisen. Es werden daher in zunehmendem Masse auch Kunststofftöpfe verwendet, die aber teuer sind und nicht die gewünschte Porosität aufweisen.
Anderseits werden zur Anzucht von Jungpflanzen aus einer Masse von Torfmull, Bindemittel und Dünge mittel gepresste Töpfe verwendet, die während des Wachstums der Pflanze in .die Erde eingeschlagen wer den und sich zersetzen. Auch .diese Töpfe bestehen aus einem verhältnismässig teuren Material.
Die vorliegende Erfindung beruht nun auf dem Gedanken, zur Herstellung von Pflanztöpfen beider oben erwähnten Arten in grösseren Mengen anfallende, nicht anderweitig verwendbare Abfallprodukte zu ver wenden, womit nicht nur ein billiges Produkt erzielt, sondern auch das Problem der Beseitigung der Abfall produkte gelöst wird. Die Erfindung betrifft ein Ver fahren zur Herstellung eines Pflanztopfes, welches da durch gekennzeichnet ist, dass man eine mindestens anteilweise aus einem Faserstoff enthaltenden Klär rückstand bestehende formbare Masse zu Pflanztöpfen verformt.
Ein besonders geeigneter Klärrückstand ent steht bei der Papierfabrikation. Der Faserstoff des Klärrückstandes bewirkt eine genügende Verfilzung des Materials, so dass der Topf ohne besonderen Binde mittelzusatz genügend fest zur Verwendung als An zuchttopf ist. Es ist jedoch ohne weiteres möglich, durch einen geringen Zusatz eines Bindemittels oder eines wasserabstossenden, die Zersetzung des Materials hindernden Mittels einen für die Aufzucht im Treib haus und den Verkauf und Versand von Pflanzen geeigneten Topf zu erzielen.
Zwei Ausführungsbeispiele des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens und Pflanztopfes sind im folgenden be schrieben: Zur Herstellung von selbst zerfallenden Anzucht töpfen wird der nasse Klärschlamm aus der Papierfa brikation bis auf einen Feuchtigkeitsgehalt von 5-10 0/0 getrocknet.
Die Trockenmasse dieses Klärschlamms enthält 60-70 % Kaolin, 40-30 % feinfaserige Zellulo- se und einen kleinen Anteil von Kartoffelstärke. Der getrocknete Klärrückstand wird nun mit ebenfalls in geeignetem Masse entwässertem gegärtem Klär- schlamm aus einer Siedlungskläranlage in einem Ver- hältnis vom. <RTI
ID="0001.0042"> rund 70 0% Klärrückstand und 30 % gegär- tem Klärschlamm vermischt, womit die Masse des Anzuchttopfes die gewünschte Düngewirkung erhält. Die Masse wird sodann in einer Form zu Töpfen ge presst oder gerollt.
Die Form kann vorzugsweise auf eine Temperatur von 50-100 C erwärmt sein. An stelle von gegärtem Klärschlamm kann natürlich auch ein anderes geeignetes Düngemittel zugesetzt werden. Wird ausschliesslich Kunstdünger verwendet, so wird die Masse zur Hauptsache aus dem Klärrückstand und nur zu einem sehr kleinen Teil aus Dünger bestehen.
Zur Herstellung von zur Aufzucht und zum Ver sand von Pflanzen geeigneten Töpfen wird der bei der Papierfabnikation anfallende Klärschlamm, wie oben angegeben, getrocknet und dann mit 0,5-1 Gew.-% Si- likon vermischt und, wie oben beschrieben,
verpresst. Der wasserabstossende Silikonzusatz verhindert die Auflösung des Materials durch Wasser und verleiht dem Topf die erforderliche Beständigkeit.
Natürlich können geeignete faserstoff- bzw. zellulo- sehaltige Abfallprodukte anderer als der oben angege- benen Herkunft und, Zusammensetzung verwendet wer den, die mit beliebigen Zusätzen von natürlichen oder künstlichen Düngemitteln, Bindemitteln, Imprägnier mitteln, Pflanzenschutzmitteln und dgl. vermischt wer den können.
Die Töpfe können auch ausschliesslich aus dem in der Papierfabrikation anfallenden Klär- rückstand ohne jeden Zusatz bestehen.

On the other hand, pressed pots are used for growing young plants from a mass of peat dust, binding agents and fertilizers, which are knocked into the earth during the growth of the plant and decompose. These pots are also made of a relatively expensive material.
The present invention is based on the idea to use for the production of plant pots of both types mentioned above in larger quantities accumulating, not otherwise usable waste products, which not only achieves a cheap product, but also the problem of the disposal of waste products is solved. The invention relates to a process for the production of a plant pot, which is characterized in that a moldable mass consisting at least partially of a clarifying residue containing fiber is formed into plant pots.
A particularly suitable sewage residue occurs in paper manufacture. The fibrous material of the sewage residue causes sufficient matting of the material, so that the pot is sufficiently firm to be used as a breeding pot without the addition of a special binding agent. However, it is easily possible to achieve a pot suitable for growing in the greenhouse and the sale and shipment of plants by adding a small amount of a binding agent or a water-repellent agent that prevents the decomposition of the material.
Two embodiments of the inventive method and plant pot are described below be: For the production of self-disintegrating cultivation pots, the wet sewage sludge from the paper factory is dried to a moisture content of 5-10 0/0.
The dry matter of this sewage sludge contains 60-70% kaolin, 40-30% fine-fiber cellulose and a small amount of potato starch. The dried sewage residue is then mixed with fermented sewage sludge from a municipal sewage treatment plant, which has also been dewatered to a suitable extent, in a ratio of <RTI
ID = "0001.0042"> around 70 0% sewage residue and 30% fermented sewage sludge mixed, with which the mass of the cultivation pot receives the desired fertilizing effect. The mass is then pressed or rolled into pots in a mold.
The mold can preferably be heated to a temperature of 50-100.degree. Instead of fermented sewage sludge, another suitable fertilizer can of course also be added. If only artificial fertilizer is used, the mass will mainly consist of the sewage residue and only a very small part of fertilizer.
For the production of pots suitable for growing and sending plants, the sewage sludge from paper production is dried as indicated above and then mixed with 0.5-1% by weight of silicone and, as described above,
pressed. The water-repellent silicone additive prevents the material from being dissolved by water and gives the pot the required resistance.
Of course, suitable fiber or cellulose-containing waste products other than the origin and composition specified above can be used, which can be mixed with any additives of natural or artificial fertilizers, binders, impregnating agents, pesticides and the like.
The pots can also consist exclusively of the sewage residue from paper production without any additives.
