Description

Process for the dewatering of sewage sludge The fresh or digested sludge accumulating in sewage treatment plants has a very high water content, e.g. B. about 90 to 95 / o "it is therefore still very liquid. The sale of such sludge, for example as a fertilizer, is therefore becoming increasingly difficult.

It is known to reduce the high water content of sewage sludge through sieving or filter machines, Zen trifuge, filter presses or the like Vorrichtun conditions. In such devices, a low-water thick matter component and a water-rich filtrate component are obtained. The latter, however, still contains a larger amount of solids in the form of very finely divided suspended matter, which filters and the like put through. The Fil obtained from these devices must therefore be subjected to an expensive and difficult aftertreatment.

The purpose of the invention is to create a method for dewatering sewage sludge, which significantly reduces the amount of solids in the filtrates of sieve or filter machines, centrifuges or filter presses.

According to the invention, this purpose is achieved by adding adsorbents and absorbents to the sludge to be dewatered prior to treatment in the devices mentioned.

These agents bind finely distributed suspended matter so that they can be retained by the sieve or filter machines, centrifuges or filter presses.

As a result, the further treatment of the resulting filtrates can be made much easier and cheaper and the amount of filtrates is also reduced.

Wood flour, ground slag or ash, paper pulp, coke flour, and ground garbage can be used as adsorbents, for example.
