Description
Device for cooling the injection nozzle in an air-cooled internal combustion engine In air-cooled internal combustion engines, the cooling of the injection nozzle has hitherto taken place d'urc'h intensive swirling of the cooling air flowing around it. However, this type of cooling caused considerable difficulties in the manufacture of the engines, particularly with regard to the attachment of the injection nozzle under the cover of the cylinder head.
Another type of cooling of the injection nozzle consists in that the injection nozzle is protected from the warm cylinder head by an insulating wall and the liquid fuel itself is used as the coolant. The cool fuel is fed into the injection nozzle in a line protected from heat, so that a low temperature is used to cool the nozzle.
The actual implementation of the mentioned arrangement is quite complicated and expensive to manufacture.
The aim of the invention is to eliminate the drawbacks mentioned in an internal combustion engine which has valves that are operated by vibrations. He inventive cooling device is characterized by an arranged in the cylinder head below the axis of the rocker collecting trough for the lubricating oil of the rocker and a connecting channel between this trough and the hottest point of another trough above the seat of the A injection nozzle and a
Drainage channel from this second trough after an opening in the cylinder head for the oil return into the engine housing.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown schematically in section. The lubricating oil is fed via a channel in the tappet 10 through the cylinder head 6 to the mounting of the rocker arms 7 which actuate the valves.
From there, the oil drips or flows into a collecting trough 1 which is arranged below the pivot axis and which communicates via a channel 2 with another trough 3, in the space of which the injection nozzle 4 is attached.
A drainage channel 8 leads from the trough 3 to an opening 5 in the cylinder head. The cool lubricating oil flows out of the trough 1 through the channel 2 into the lower warmest part of the trough 3 above the seat 9 of the injection nozzle 4,
cools this and is pressed out in the heated state by the cooler oil flowing in from the Mul'd'e 1 and flows through the channel 8 and the opening 5 back to the motor housing.
