Description

Electric switch. The object of the invention is an electric switch, characterized in that it comprises a maneuvering member rotating on an axis and capable of being put in endless rotation in both directions, the operating member rotating in a plane perpendicular to the surface on which the switch is fixed.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of this switch in cross sections, figs: 1 and 2.

The operating member 1 comprises four radial wings, it can be rotated endlessly either in one direction or in the other on an axis 2 fixed relative to the housing 8. This member 1 comprises, in a of its four wings, a diametral housing 4 for a ball 5 and a spring 6, which is held in the housing by a screw cap 7.

The ball 5 is pushed back into one of the four grooves that the axis 2 has and it prevents accidental rotation of the member 1, but it suffices to push in one direction or the other the wing protruding from it. outside, so that the ball passes from one groove in axis 2 to the next, momentarily compressing spring 6.

Two wings of member 1 have a groove into which a pusher 8 of one of the contacts enters so that the current is interrupted, fig. 1. The other two wings of the member 1 are intended to actuate the pusher 8 which has for this purpose a rounded point of friction, - this to actuate and establish the current, fig. 2.

The two grooved wings of organ 1 are preferably white in color, while the other two are red, so that a red central surface is clearly visible when the current is flowing, and a white surface separating two red surfaces. when the current is interrupted.

The axis 2 could be cylindrical, for example, the ball operating a sufficient braking; and, during the maneuver, the actuated wing could not practically be pushed more than it is useful, because its outer surface would be flush with the surface of the housing when the operator's finger abuts against it. this surface.
