Description
1'Vechselzeichenanor dnung. Wechselzeichensysteme, z.
1 'alternating character arrangement. Variable character systems, e.g. B. with Wech sel numbers are used to display the numbers 0-9 with a blend system or the like. By lining up such blend systems, any number of digits can be displayed.
In the known devices are located on a base plate incandescent lamps. A blend system is placed over the base plate, which firstly contains chambers for the individual lamps so that the light bulbs cannot outshine each other, and secondly it has cutouts at the top through which the light can exit. The individual signs are composed of these luminous lines when the light bulbs corresponding to a certain sign are switched on.
The invention is based on the known fact that in the case of a glass rod, for example, the light entering at one end does not exit laterally under certain conditions (total reflection), but is passed on in the glass rod and only exits at the other end. The application of this principle for alternating characters makes it possible to omit the aperture, the free choice of the place where the individual lamps are to be attached, the redirection of the light around corners and such a training and summary of the rod ends that elegant and clear numbers - or drawing images arise.
The alternating sign arrangement according to the invention is characterized in that the light from light sources is at least partially passed through a body assigned to each light source using total reflection so that the light rays emerging from this body result in a sign image, with certain ones being switched on Groups of light sources different characters can be represented.
In the accompanying drawing, the arrangement is shown, for example, for five light paths with an alternating number and described below.
The light from the lamp 1 occurs at the rod end 2 in the glass body. It is forwarded within the same and exits at surface 3. This creates an illuminated sign element with the shape of the surface 3. An analogous process takes place when the lamps 4, 7, 10 or 13 are on. By turning on certain groups of lamps, certain luminous characters can be displayed, since the surfaces 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 lie in one plane and are arranged in certain positions to each other.
For example, when the lamp groups 1, 4, 7, 10 and 18 are switched on, the luminous image of the number "4", de, and the luminous paths 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 are illuminated. By switching on the lamp groups 1 and 4, the number "1" is formed, which is made up of the lighting paths 3 and 6.
