Description

A device for keeping the air dry, especially for cigar shops. In shops, shop windows, etc., especially on rainy days, when there is no heating, it often happens that the window panes become blind, the metal goods oxidize and the smoking goods in particular become soft and sticky.

The present invention aims to provide a simple device which remedies these inconveniences.

The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. The device has two vessels a and b which have the shape of rectangular bowls open at the top. The larger vessel a serves to absorb the accumulated moisture. The smaller vessel b is placed in the larger one and is less deep, so that a free space of height d is formed between its bottom c and that of the larger one. It rests on the larger vessel with edges protruding from the longitudinal edges. The smaller vessel is evenly lined with a hygroscopic substance such as calcium chloride.

It is provided with holes f at the bottom c in order to allow the accumulated moisture to flow off and thus to keep the hygroscopic substance effective for longer.

The vessels are smaller or larger depending on the rooms and a battery of such devices can also be set up. The smaller vessel can be lifted off so that the larger vessel can be emptied. The vessels can be easily cleaned and dried. The hygroscopic substance is renewed as necessary. The device works without electricity and extra controls; it is completely odorless. The installation takes place near the goods, namely below them. It is particularly effective when locked in a cupboard with the goods.
