Zusatzpatent zum Hauptpatent Nr. 182723. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Nüpenfarbstoffes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man einen Küpen- farbstoff herstellen kann, wenn man 1 Mol tetrachloriertes Pyrenchinon vom Schmelz punkt 338 mit 1 Mol 4 . 4'-Diaminophenyl umsetzt.
Der erhaltene Farbstoff stellt ein grün schwarzes Pulver dar, das einen Schmelz punkt von über 400 besitzt. Es löst sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure mit grüner Farbe und färbt Baumwolle aus orangege- färbter Küpe in olivschwarzen Tönen von guter Waschechtheit.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 80 Teile 4.4'-Diaminodiphenyl, 37 Teile Tetrachlorpyrenchinon vom Schmelzpunkt 338 werden mit wenig Naturkupfer C und 30 Teilen Kaliumkarbonat vermischt und in 500 Teilen Tetrachloräthan suspendiert. Nun wird die Temperatur auf 120-1250 erhöht und während 20 Stunden weiter gerührt. Das dunkelgefärbte Reaktionsgemisch wird filtriert, mit Tetrachloräthan gewaschen und getrocknet.

The temperature is now increased to 120-1250 and stirring is continued for 20 hours. The dark colored reaction mixture is filtered, washed with tetrachloroethane and dried.
