Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen quaternären Salzes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man ein neues quaternäres Salz erhält, wenn man a-Brom- stearinsäureäthylester mit Pyridin umsetzt.
Das neue quaternäre Salz bildet ein dick flüssiges Öl, dessen wässerige Lösung eine hohe Netzkraft besitzt und das als Tegtil- hilfsstoff,insbesondere zum Wasserechtmachen von Färbungen, verwendet werden kann.
Beispiel: 5 Gewichtsteile a-Brornstearirisäureäthyl- ester werden mit 10 Gewichtsteilen Pyridin 2 Stunden auf dem siedenden Wasserbad er hitzt. Nach dem Abdestillieren des über schüssigen Pyridins erhält man das quaternäre Salz in Form eines dickflüssigen Öls.
Zum Wasserechtmachen einer 2 %igen Färbung von Baumwollgelb CH (Schultz Farb- stofftabellen, 7. Aufl., Nr.
726) auf Baumwoll stück behandelt man die Ware nach dem Färben mit einer Lösung, die 1% des aus a-Bromstearinsäureäthylester erhaltenen Py- ridiniumbromids, bezogen auf das Gewicht des Fasermaterials, enthält. Nach 20 Minuten wird abgequetscht und getrocknet. Die blau gefärbte Stückware blutet in kaltem Wasser nicht aus.
Process for the preparation of a new quaternary salt. It has been found that a new quaternary salt is obtained if ethyl α-bromostearate is reacted with pyridine.
The new quaternary salt forms a thickly liquid oil, the aqueous solution of which has a high degree of wetting power and which can be used as a textile additive, especially to make dyeings waterfast.
Example: 5 parts by weight of a-bromostearic acid ethyl ester are heated with 10 parts by weight of pyridine on a boiling water bath for 2 hours. After the excess pyridine has been distilled off, the quaternary salt is obtained in the form of a thick oil.
To make a 2% dye of cotton yellow CH water-permeable (Schultz color tables, 7th ed., No.
726) on pieces of cotton, the fabric is treated after dyeing with a solution which contains 1% of the pyridinium bromide obtained from ethyl α-bromostearate, based on the weight of the fiber material. After 20 minutes it is squeezed off and dried. The blue-colored piece goods do not bleed in cold water.
