Description

Detergents and emulsifiers and process for their production. The invention relates to a detergent and emulsifier and a method for its production. The detergent and emulsifying agent according to the invention is characterized by a content of normal sodium pyrophosphate. It can be used especially for dyed fabrics, where it does not attack the colors, for woolen, silk and other delicate fabrics. Greasy fibers, such as raw wool, can also be washed with the agent mentioned.

For washing woolen and silk fabrics that have been attacked by alkalis, the alkaline salts of phosphoric acid have already been used as mild detergents.

If one compares the normal sodium pyrophosphate Na4P20 with the tribasic sodium phosphate when washing raw wool, it becomes evident that sodium pyrophosphate has a significant superiority over tribasic phosphate, although sodium pyrophosphate has a low alkalinity.

A comparison between sodium pyrophosphate and the dibasic sodium phosphate, which have approximately the same alkaline effect, shows that a multiple amount of secondary sodium phosphate is required to achieve the same washing effect.

To prepare the present detergent and emulsifying agent, the procedure is expediently such that sodium pyrophosphate is mixed dry with an acidic compound, for example sodium bisulfate.

The effect of the detergent and emulsifier according to the present invention can be increased significantly by adding another known detergent or emulsifier, such as sulphite waste liquor, tragacanth, glue, gelatine, proteins, Saponine, also salts of various fatty acids and other soaps.
