Description

Process for taring surfaces. It is known -that when taring upper surfaces, such as streets, sidewalks, courtyards, squares, gravel roofs, roofing felt, etc., the tar makes its protective effect a relatively short time. The tar must be repeated several times in order to maintain the original protective effect. Especially streets, sidewalks, squares etc., which are driven by trucks, automobiles etc.

heavily trafficked require a relatively quick replacement, as do roofs, where rain and snow adversely affect the insulating effect of the tar.

The present invention is a method for taring upper surfaces, such as streets, sidewalks, squares, walking because of all kinds, roofing felt and others, so that they are subject to wear by mechanical action significantly less quickly. The process consists in taring the surfaces mentioned with a tar to which other high-melting bodies, such as raw montan wax, also called black wax, have been added. It has been found that, for.

   B. the addition of 1-5 and more percent raw montan wax to coal tar is sufficient to achieve the stated purpose and gives a tar that is superior to the previous tars of streets, sidewalks, squares, walkways and roofing felt, etc.

The tar used for carrying out the process is expediently produced by heating coal tar as high as possible, using pans, as previously usual, whereby foaming over during heating should be avoided. Expediently, 1 to 5 other high-melting bodies, for example raw montan wax, are added to this tar. You can also add one or more percent paraffin.

If a surface has been treated with such a tar, this surface is used much less quickly due to mechanical friction. The effects of the weather can also have less of an effect on the treated surface. Practice has even shown that the durability of such surfaces is up to twice as long compared to planes that were tarred in the previous manner.
