Abstract
A collapsible kickstand for a content-conveying object, such as an electronic device, consists of a first section and a pivotable second section that can elevate the first section. The second section has two support sections that pivot outwards to support the electronic device and add stability when the electronic device is placed in an ergonomic viewing position. After use, the support sections can be folded inwards and the second section can be folded upwards
Description
Title: Electronic Device/Cover Kickstand Elevator to Elevate entire device This present invention is related but not limited to the Technology industry.
Background The invention is intended to support and / or elevate an electronic device, more specifically but not limited to Tablets, Laptops, Cell Phones and Surfaces off of a surface by means of a cover or attached to the devise itself.
The invention is related to the stand of the electronic devise/cover where it can be used as a stand and / or to elevate the device/cover. Conventionally, electronic device stands and cover stands are used to raise the screen up to a viewable position on a set surface, but not elevate the device therefore resulting in the device being in an uncomfortable and not ergonomically correct position. By focusing on supporting and elevating the device, we are placing the device in a more ergonomic position.
Summary of the invention This invention seeks to provide a solution to the problem mentioned above by providing a simple and effective way to elevate the device off the surface (e.g. table) to a more ergonomically correct position. This is done by incorporating an elevated option to the screen / viewing surface support stand. This is done by adding integrating three extra hinge points in the kick stand. The first hinge position is located at the bottom of the stand allowing the kick stand to be folded down again. The second and third hinge points are on either end of the bottom end of the kick stand. This hinge folds out sideways to support the bottom of the device. This will lift the device to a more ergonomically sound position.

EDCS-DWG-005 FIG 5. 30 STEP 2 (ELEVATED LEVEL).
EDCS-DWG-006 FIG 6. 30 STEP 3 (ELEVATED LEVEL).
How the invention works.
This invention uses a kickstand that folds into itself. The kickstand has the ability to be used as a normal kickstand or as an elevated stand. This is done by, but not limited to, using three hinge points. The first hinge point is at the bottom of the kickstand, which allows the stand to fold down.
The second and third hinge points are on either side of the bottom folded down kickstand; this is to create stability for the devise and elevate it.
This can be done in a variety of ways, including also folding out from the cover instead of the kickstand.
1. As can be seen in EDCS-DWG-001 (FIG 1.) the invention can be used in the conventional way i.e just as a stand. This is the standard way that most covers / device stands in the industry support the device.

2. As per EDCS-DWG-002 (FIG 2) the stand is fully expanded and shows how the kickstand elevates and supports the device/cover.
3. As can be seen in EDCS-DWG-003 (FIG 3) the kickstand is collapsible and can fold back into itself. The drawing is an illustration and does not limit how the stand can fold into itself.
4. EDCS-DWG-004, EDCS-DWG-005 & EDCS-DWG-006(FIG 4, FIG 5 & FIG 6) illustrates the steps to fold open the stand.
a. EDCS-DWG-004(FIG 4) is a 3D (step 1) pulling the kickstand from the device/cover, this is a representation of the conventional kickstand and can sit on any surface (e.g.
A table);
b. EDCS-DWG-005(FIG 5) is a 3D representation of the second step, this step is simply to fold down the bottom section of the kickstand and allows for the elevation of the device/cover without stability;
c. EDCS-DWG-006(FIG 6) is the third step, where the sides of the stand fold out to provide stability to the device/cover.
This elevated stand is preferable but not limited to an Electronic Device.
This invention will allow users to elevate and support a device / viewing surface, without having to carry around an additional stand item. It will also ensure the user is comfortable and more ergonomically positioned while using the device / viewing surface.
