Abstract
The Bong Stem Filter is a filtration insert intended for the reduction of Cannabis residue, Tobacco residue and other substance residues in a Bong smoking apparatus. Too often do Bong users complain of a need to clean their accessories which includes the Bong Down Stem. The consistent issue of a clogged Bong Down Stem is a common factor amongst these Bong users. Raising concern however is when they do in fact clean these accessories and bongs the residue from them tends to be a clumped rather sticky substance. It has the ability to build up in water filtration stations and household plumbing leading to an array of chemicals to be added to the water sources already contaminated once by the residue. This is where the Bong Stem Filter has a role comprised of a Bong Stem Sleeve Filter to act as a porous device removing the impurities or solid particles from a liquid or gas passing through it. Also comprised of a Bong Stem Filter Sleeve which acts as a holder for said Bong Stem Sleeve Filter and as a container for the residue which builds up during use. The Bong Stem Filter Sleeve has a light Sugar based Glue coating to ensure an adhesive effect upon contact with particles which otherwise manage to pass through the Bong Stem Sleeve Filter. The Bong Stem Filter Sleeve and the Bong Stem Sleeve Filter both require the same shape for proper insertion of said Bong Stem Filter into the Bong Down Stem. The Bong Stem Filter allows for the disposal of the residue left in itself and not in the Bong Down Stem or Bong after use by biodegradation.
Description
Bong Stem Filter Description The Bong Stem Filter (BSF) is an addition to sustainable innovative technology.
Drawing 1A (depicted on page 8) is the Bong Stem Filter Sleeve (unformed) which is used to hold the Bong Stem Sleeve Filter (depicted on page 8, Drawing 1B) (unformed). Drawing 1C (depicted on page 8) illustrates the Bong Stem Filter as a fully formed Invention. Drawing 1D (page 9) depicts a top view of the Bong Stem Filter (Formed). Drawing lE (as depicted on page 9) is a rough illustration of a complete Bong containing water. Cannabis use is an ever increasing market in today's society, with this in mind the use of a multitude of smoking apparatuses have been acquainted to the; everyday, once in a while and first time cannabis user. From this derives the BSF, a way for the Cannabis user to maintain hygiene levels of their Bong (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E), Bong water and Bong Stem (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label B). The BSF does so in a manner that allows for low-environmental impact with the use of Hemp paper for biodegradability and sustainability as well as a no Carbon Manufacturing process.
A Bong (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E) in short is one of the aforementioned apparatuses which Cannabis users smoke from. A Bong functions as a filtration device (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E), simple or advanced blown glass in numerous shapes, single or multi-chambered to hold smoke which is drawn from a heat source being placed on the Bowl (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label A) containing substance such as Tobacco or Cannabis. The smoke then pulls through the Bong Stem (Depicted on page 9 Drawing 1E, label B) into a chamber or multiple (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label C), up the neck of the Bong (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label D) and to the respiratory system of the user. Bongs all share the commonality of the Bong Stem (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label B). There is an extent of difficulty in cleaning a Bong (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E) once it has been covered in Cannabis, Tobacco or other substance residues. Products have entered the market over the last decade which are limited to cleaning the bong after this residue has developed in the Bong itself.
These products can be costly with little effectiveness. My Invention aims to largely take part in the reduction of residues before they have the chance to build up allowing the consumer to rinse their product out with hot water. This allows for the reduction of chemical disposal in the home and a low-cost option for consumers to filter the aforementioned residues out of their Bongs (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E), Bong Stems (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label B) and Bong water. The Bong Stem Filter (Depicted on page 8 and 9, Drawings 1C and 1D) is a filtration insert for a Bong Stem (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label B) which is placed in a bong, used to reduce the residues left by Cannabis, Tobacco and other substances. The Bong Stem Filter is made up of Hemp Paper. The Hemp Paper was found to be the right choice amongst papers due to the sustainability, biodegradability and effectiveness of the material. Though any other paper may have been used, effectiveness of residue reduction was found to be minimal in a comparative test amongst Post Consumer Papers, Inkjet Paper, Kraft Paper, Cotton Paper, Hemp Paper as well as Plastics. Glass was a possibility but a low cost efficiency method. Both the Bong Stem Filter Sleeve (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1A) and the Bong Stem Sleeve Filter (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1B) are composed of Hemp Paper. Using a hand made manufacturing plan I have established a No Carbon Manufacturing process for these filters to further exemplify it as a green technology innovation. The Bong Stem Sleeve Filter (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1A) has the bottom (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1A, label C) lightly coated in a sugar-based glue then proceeds to have the corner (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1A, label A) folded over the opposite corner (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1A, label B). It is then inserted in a rotational motion into a Bong Stem (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label B) mould. The same sugar-based glue placed on the bottom is then wiped in a thin coating on the inside of the Bong Stem Filter Sleeve (Formed, Depicted on page 8, drawing 1C).
It is then left to dry for a short period of time until roughly 80% dry. Once at this point the Bong Stem Sleeve Filter (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1B) is formed by taking the lower right corner (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1B, label A) with the top left corner (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1B, label B) in your other hand performing a 360 degree twist and folding into two while twisted, folding once more to immediately insert into a Bong Stem Sleeve that has been formed (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1C). Once placed in the Bong Stem Filter it is pushed downwards

2 1/4 inches with shaped wood. The complete Bong Stem Filter (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1C and page 9, Drawing 1D) is then left to dry in the mould, once dry the Bong Stem Filter is removed from the mould and packaged immediately to be stored and/or sold. The Bong Stem Filter (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1C) is intended to be inserted into a Bong Stem for filtration purposes, (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label B) it should be tight with the tip (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1C, label A) sitting out of the Bong Stem (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label B). The user should always keep the tip of the Filter (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1C, label A) facing away from themselves when the Bong Stem Filter is inserted for easy removal of the Filter. Once the Bong Stem Filter is in place the user can proceed to use their apparatus as they normally would. The Bowl (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label A) is placed in the tip of the Bong Stem Filter (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1C) and the top of the Bong Stem (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label B). One Bowl (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label A) full of Cannabis, Tobacco or any other substance is referred to socially as a toke.
For the Optimum use of the Bong Stem Filter the consumer should only use the product for a total of fifteen takes which holds an equivalency with the term session for these purposes. The Bong Stem Filter (Depicted on page 8, Drawing 1C) should be removed with the Bowl (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label A) still inserted to maintain the best Filter formation. Bong water levels should be based on the consumers Bong Stem (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label B) and Base (Depicted on page 9, Drawing 1E, label E).
