Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de produire des radio-isotopes à l'aide d'une centrale nucléaire à eau lourde. Le procédé consiste à insérer des cibles (37) dans un modérateur à eau lourde du réacteur à eau lourde à travers un tube de guidage (30) dans un port (55) dans une plate-forme de mécanisme de réactivité (45) du réacteur à eau lourde. Le réacteur à eau lourde va irradier la cible pour convertir la cible en un radio-isotope. Le procédé consiste ensuite à retirer le radio-isotope du modérateur du réacteur à eau lourde via la plate-forme de mécanisme de réactivité. L'invention concerne également un réacteur nucléaire à eau lourde.
