Description

TRANSFER CRADLE
The invention relates to a transfer cradle, of the type used in a coil storage facility, of the type described in United States Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 61/721,855, filed 11/2/2012, incorporated herein by reference.
The transfer cradles are the pick-up points for the automation and serve a function similar to the transfer cars described in Canadian Patent Application Serial No. 2,444,612, incorporated herein by reference.
The transfer cradles are used many times. The cradles include urethane pads, which provide durability for this purpose.
The cradles can be used in a facility that has a shipping/receiving crane that Is on the same runway as the crane that services the Interior of the warehouse.

Claims (2)

1. A transfer cradle having a photo-electric sensor.
2. An automated coil transfer facility having a transfer cradle, a shipping/receiving crane that transfers coils from the shipping receiving area to the transfer cradle and a storage crane on the same runway as the shipping/receiving crane that shuttles coils inside the warehouse.
