Abstract
A directional signal processing system for beamforming information signals.
The system includes an oversampled filterbank, which has an analysis filterbank for transforming the information signals in time domain into channel signals in transform domain, a synthesis filterbank and a signal processor. The signal processor processes the outputs of the analysis filterbank for beamforming the information signals. The synthesis filterbank transforms the outputs of the signal processor to a single information signal in time domain.
The system includes an oversampled filterbank, which has an analysis filterbank for transforming the information signals in time domain into channel signals in transform domain, a synthesis filterbank and a signal processor. The signal processor processes the outputs of the analysis filterbank for beamforming the information signals. The synthesis filterbank transforms the outputs of the signal processor to a single information signal in time domain.
Claims (4)
1. A method of processing at least one information signal in time domain for achieving approximately linear phase response, said method comprising the steps of:
performing an oversampled transformation using at least one oversampled analysis filterbank, said oversampled transformation transforming said information signal in time domain to a plurality of channel signals in transform domain;
outputting said channel signals from said oversampled analysis filterbank; and performing filtering by applying one or more filters to said channel signals to achieve the approximately linear phase response.

2. A method of processing at least one information signal as claimed in claim 1, wherein said filter is an IIR filter.
3. A method of processing at least one information signal as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the step of performing an oversampled transformation comprises:
at said at least one oversampled analysis filterbank, applying at least one fractional delay impulse response to at least one filterbank prototype window.

4. A method of processing at least one information signal as claimed in any one of claims 1-3, further comprising:
at a synthesis filterbank, transforming one or more outputs from said filter to an output signal in time domain.
