Abstract

The Luminescent video game controller serves the purpose of making the video game playing experience more enjoyable. The glow controller parts when illuminated with glow, provides a pleasurable viewing and gaming experience. Giving the gamer the ability to see the parts of the controller in the dark gives the gamer a visual advantage.
The glow in the dark luminescent video game controller is a novel invention, and is unlike any other controller on the market that claims it "glows". The competitor controller that claims it "glows" uses a LED light emitted diodewhich is a light inside the controller molding. The Luminescent video game controller uses natural light, making the controller parts glow "naturally". The game player takes the controller to the nearest light bulb source, hold it for thirty seconds or so, then proceeds to play the video game in the dark.

Description

Patent Application PART B

Invention "Luminescent Video Game Controller"
Kevin Sterling Rennie 122 Pilkington St Thorold, Ont Description My invention, "Luminescent Video Game Controller, is a controller built to meet the need of the video game player that has limited or no light conditions. When video gaming at night the video controller, (FIG.A) buttons, directional pad, or molding is not visible.
The Luminescent video game controller remedies this by illuminating the controller and all it's parts, including the buttons and direction pad. The video game player holds the controller to the light source for a small period of time to charge the phosphors in the glow powder, and proceeds to use the now illuminated controller. The advantages of this are, being able to see the buttons, they are usually labeled with a number or shape to indicate a specific function. The playstation controller buttons are recognized by a square, circle, triangle, and an X, each executing a separate action. In the dark it is impossible to see these buttons, and makes it difficult for the game to recognize the specific button for the action required by the game. Most controller manufacturers for all console platforms use this type of matrix on the buttons. Another advantage is the glowing molding, making it impossible to lose sight of your controller. A common video game playing session occurs in the back of vehicles these days, where at night there is no light.
The gamer will now not lose sight of the controller should it be dropped behind the seat or accidentally left behind. Similar companies have tried to light up the controller, however the difference between my controller and the competitor controller is that the competitor controllers light up using a small LED or light emitted diode inside the controller molding. My controller does not glow because of a internal light, mine glows because of the unique glow powder implementation of all its parts. The luminescent video game controller uses the natural light to illuminate the controller's parts, causing a bright natural glow. I have completed an extensive search and there are no such items either in the patent databases or currently circulating the market in video game accessory retail outlets worldwide.

Claims

Claims I Kevin Sterling Rennie of Thorold Ontario Canada, state the following claims.

I Kevin Sterling Rennie have invented the invention, "Luminescent glow in the dark video game controller.

The luminescent glow in the dark video game controller is for video game players.

A glow in the dark luminescent video game controller used for playing video games at night.

A luminescent glow in the dark video game controller for all video game console platforms including Sony, it's Playstation console and accessory product series.
Microsoft, it's Xbox and accessory product series, Nintendo, it's Gamecube and accessory series. Personal computer video game controllers, any video game controller used to play video games present or future.

A video game controller that glows or is illuminated by phosphorescent material.

The buttons, directional pad, and molding are made of phosphorescent material when put to light result in a glow in the dark effect.

The Luminescent video game controller glows in the dark using natural light.

When the light source is directed on the controller for a period of time, then put into a dark scenario, the luminescent video game controller and its parts are illuminated with glow. SEE FIG.B

The glow powder injected in the video game controller mold, is implemented in various colors, providing a multiple color spectrum of glow.
