Abstract

L'invention porte sur des Drosophila melanogaster et le <i>C. elegans</i> modifiés génétiquement pour exprimer ou mésexprimer des protéines intervenant dans le mécanisme de la protéine de fixation des éléments régulateurs des stérols (SREBP). Ces modèles d'animaux génétiquement modifiés présentent des phénotypes identifiables les rendant utiles dans des essais servant à l'étude: du métabolisme des lipides, d'autres gènes intervenant dans le métabolisme des lipides, et de composés capables de moduler le mécanisme du métabolisme des lipides. L'invention porte également sur des méthodes d'étude du métabolisme des lipides chez des nématodes vivants à l'aide de conjugués d'acide gras marqués par fluorescence tels que les conjugués BODIPY?TM¿, et sur de nouvelles séquences d'acides nucléiques et de protéines du mécanisme de la protéine SREBP.
