Abstract

La présente invention concerne des procédés de diagnostic et des trousses d'analyse destinés aux médecins et vétérinaires, et permettant un diagnostic facile et rapide du niveau et de la sévérité d'une inflammation des voies respiratoires, sans que soient nécessaires des installations de laboratoire sophistiquées ou du personnel de laboratoire qualifié. Ce procédé et ces trousses d'analyse reposent sur l'évaluation objective de la quantité de métalloprotéinases matricielles (MMP) et/ou de molécules apparentées aux MMP (MMP-RM) dans des échantillons de sécrétions respiratoires. Une quantité de MMP dans les fluides respiratoires supérieure à celle correspondant à des individus sains constitue une indication fiable du niveau, de la sévérité et/ou des phases actives de destruction tissulaire d'une inflammation des voies respiratoires, et permet également de cibler un traitement médical ainsi que de prédire les risques de complications liées à des infections ou à des facteurs de stress inflammatoires, mais aussi environnementaux et physiques, comme c'est le cas pour les athlètes participant à des manifestations sportives. Des sommes d'argent très importantes sont également utilisées dans le domaine de la course de chevaux, où il est très important pour le vétérinaire travaillant sur le terrain de pouvoir décider si un cheval peut participer ou non à une course.
