Abstract

The invention is of an intubation system (10) which is based on a specially designed fiberscope instrument (12) of a new design to address the unique requirements for incubation.
The fiberscope (12) has a largely semi-rigid insertion cord (16) which permits a user to preform the endoscopic stylet (12) to follow the anticipated contours of the airway leading to the trache, and to insure that it reliably shepherds the associated endotracheal tube (14) to the intended tracheal position.
