Abstract
Dans le cadre de cette invention, un jack opto-électrique (40) peut être utilisé pour remplacer de manière ponctuelle un jack électrique standard de type RJ ou de type D-ultra-miniaturisé. Le jack opto-électrique (40) se compose d'un boîtier (12) doté d'un logement (120) adapté pour recevoir une fiche de connexion optique (500) couplée à un câble à fibres optiques, ainsi que d'une multitude de bornes électriques (70) permettant la connexion à un circuit électrique. De préférence, les bornes (70) seront agencées selon une rangée préétablie qui correspond à la rangée de bornes (70) d'un jack électrique standard. Un circuit de conversion opto-électrique est placé à l'intérieur du logement (12). Ce circuit est capable de convertir en signaux électriques les signaux optiques qu'il reçoit de la fiche de connexion optique et de les transmettre au circuit électrique via les bornes (70). Il peut également convertir en signaux optiques les signaux électriques reçus du circuit électrique via les bornes (70) et qui seront transmis à la fiche de connexion optique (500).
