Description
i A COMPLE 1 E SELr STANDING MULTI-SPORTS TRAINING, EXERCISING AND REHABILITATION SYSTEM
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is concerned with sports training, exercise and rehabilitation. More precisely, it is concerned with training, exercising and rehabilitation of specific muscles and/or muscle group or groups used in sports and/or other activities.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The multiple sports exercise apparatuses known in the field, which provide elastic resistance to movement and exercise, do not allow an exerciser or athlete to condition and exercise multiple sport muscle groups and perform a complete weight routine on the same apparatus.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The multi-sports training, exercising and rehabilitation system is a self standing machine that permits a constant resistive force, provided by elastic cords known as "Bungee Cords". Moreover, the multi-sports training, exercising and rehabilitation system's resistive force can easily and quickly be adjusted in a matter of seconds.
The present invention provides a multi-sports training, exercising and rehabilitation apparatus that can be used to condition, train, exercise and rehabilitate specific muscle groups used in sports and other activities.
Muscle groups Which are critical to the performance of an athlete in a particular sport or to an exerciser in a different domaine. Recreational exercisers may use the multi-sports training, exercising and rehabilitation apparatus to improve particular motor reflexes in a selected sport. The w CA 02266788 1999-04-08

2 apparatus can be used to perform a complete weight training or conditioning program and may be used as a part of a physical therapy program or rehabilitative exercise program for all parts of the body. The apparatus can also be used in presurgery muscle conditioning to prepare a muscle for the trauma of surgery as well as getting it into better condition in order to shorten the recovery period.
The apparatus of the present invention is a training, exercising and rehabilitation apparatus which provides constant resistive force against exercise movements. The amount of resistance to an exercise can be quickly and easily adjusted by attaching one or more elastic cords to a floater pulley. The apparatus can also be easily and quickly adjusted to change from exercising one set of muscles to another. This is done by adjusting the carriage at a given height on the vertical frame. The carriage is slidably mounted on the vertical frame. It is secured to a given position by tightening a knob. Moreover, the apparatus is lightweight and does not rely upon complicated resistive force systems to provide the desired resistive force to an exercise. The base of the apparatus may have one or more rollers for easily moving the apparatus.
The apparatus is used by an exerciser engaging the end of a floater pulley to one or more elastic cords and by connecting the end of the cable, which passes through the same floater pulley, to an ankle/wrist cuff, handle or other devices.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the exercise machine according to the present invention.
Figure 2 is a side perspective view of the exercise machine of Figure 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
A self standing apparatus comprised of a working platform which stabilizes a vertical frame into which an adjustable resistance system is included. In a preferred embodiment, the base may be detachably connected to the vertical frame to facilitate storing or transport of the apparatus.
A three-dimensional exercising capability in which freedom of movement in half of a sphere is attainable. This movement is possible with two pulleys attached in front of the carriage having a vertical axis pivoting 180°
on a vertical plane on the same carriage. These two pulleys are parallel and ~°~,rd1 in vertical relation to give freedom of movement up and down along the vertical frame. The thirda~%S has a horizontal plane allowing it to pivot 180°
on a horizontal plane, thereby giving freedom of movement from left to right.
This machine provides a unique feature which is capable of adjusting the carriage to an infinite number of positions on the vertical frame in order to adjust the carriage to a precise height, so to execute an exercise.
Thence, with the adjustable carriage according to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a perfect position according to the height of a person and the nature of the exercise or rehabilitation movement.
