Abstract

Disclosed is a novel blank for coins or medals having features which render particularly reliable the detectability in coin testing machines of the coins produced therefrom. The blank comprises an inner disc of a laminate of a nickel layer and a copper-nickel alloy layer and an outer ring made from a metal or metal alloy having an electric resistance which clearly differs from that of the inner disc.
