Abstract
Abstract A thread reel with bar code carries the bar code on the end face of a reel flange, wherein the bar code is miniaturised, so that reel diameters of less than 27 mm can be used.
Description
Thread reel with bar code The invention concerns a thread reel with bar code according to the introductory part of patent claim 1~
Thread reels of this kind have become known, in which the bar code in a manner known in the art is arranged on the end face of the ~eel flange. Up to now, howe~er, it was only possible to arrange ~he ~ar code in a certain size on the end face of a reel flange, becau~e the standardised bar code lasers in connection with standardise~ EAN codes could not operate below a certain resolution.
This led to the fact that, in order to be able to ~ount the kno~n bar codes on the end face of thread reels, it was not possible to go below a certain reel diameter of the reel flange. Thus, for exampl~, it was not possib]e to provide reel diameters of less than 27 mm with a standardised EAN bar code.
It is therefore the ob~ect of the invention to develop a thread reel with bar code of the kind mentioned hereinbefore in such a way that the bar code can be mounted on thread reels with a smaller d~ameter than 27 mm.
The technical instruction according to claim 1 serves ~ ~o achieve the stated object.
- An essen~ial characteristic.of the invention is that according to the invention there is now use~ a miniaturised bar code which according to the ~nvention can now be ~ounted on reel flanges with a diameter of less than 27 mm.
Here, the bar code can be designed as an EAN-13 cod~
or as a UPC-A code (US standard).
With ~he technical ins~ruction according to the invention, it is now possible for the first ti~.e to provide reels of sizes 27/19/12 mm with a code of standard size.
Suitable printers and corresponding tests of bar code lasers are required for this, in order to be able to detect this miniaturised code without errors too.
Here it is pro~ided that the distance between the left and right bars of the bar code is less than 19.5 mm, ~, .
wherein the White zone is not taken into account.
The subject of the present in~ention follows not only ~rom the subject of the indi~idual patent claims, but also from the combination of the indlvidual patent claims with each other. All the details and characteristics di~closed in the documents, including the abstract, in par~icular the spatial construction shown in the drawings, are claimed as essential to the invention in so far as they are new individually or in combina~ion compared with the state of the art.
Below, the invention ~s described in more detail with the aid of a drawing showing only one em~odiment. Here, further essential characteristics and advantages of the invention are appare~t from the drawing and its description.
In the illustration is shown by way of example a thread reel according to the invention.
The thread reel 1 comprise~ mutually opposed reel flanges 2, 3, wherein on the end ~ace 6 of the front reel flange 2 is mounted the bar code 8 according to the invention. ~he bar code 8 here defines an ~pproximately rectangular frame 7 which surrounds the bar code ~.
Between the reel flanges 2 in a manner known in the art is arranged the reel body 4 which 1s wound with a thread winding 5.
According to t~e invention, the diameter 9 iQ selected at least such that the bar code 8 iQ miniaturised and from the left black bar to the right black bar there is a distance of less than 19.5 ~m. T~s corresponds to the width of the frame 7.
The diameter is less than or equal to 27 mm, wherein prefera~ly reel diameters 9 in graduated sizes of 27/19/lZ
mm are used.
