Abstract

Abstract The invention illustrated comprises a container I of any suitable cross section but, in the form shown,is a cylinder.The container I is closed at the top but for an apeture 2,which may be relocated as required,through which the dental floss 3,of whatever quantity,quality or description,is drawn.Item 4 is a cutting/holding device.The bottom of the container I is closed either by mating device 5 in the case of a tube type toothpaste container/dispenser or a flat plate 6 in the case of a pump type toothpaste container/dispenser,the container I having been lengthened 7 to allow mating to a pump type toothpaste container/dispenser.Mating devices 5 and 7 may be either of scew on or press fit construction.
Item 8 is a cover,either screw on or press fit,to pro-tect the dental floss 3.A braking device (not shown) may be incorporated if desired.

A dental floss container/dispenser which is also a closure for a container/dispenser of toothpaste.
This invention relates -to a closure for a container/dis-penser which is,in itself,a container/dispenser.
It is currently -the practice to package toothpaste and dental floss separately.This raises a number of problems such as having to make two separate purchases,-the differing requirement for resupply due to differing volumes and utilization rates,keeping track of two separate items where the dental floss con-tainer is usually a small article easily lost.These problems,and others, discourage even -the use of dental floss.~herefore I
propose that a dental floss container/dispenser be adapted for use as a toothpaste container/dispenser closure.
This would obviate the aformen-tioned problems by providing for only one purchase,a simultaneous resupply of both i-tems and security against loss -thus encouraging the use of dental floss.

For use as a dental floss container/dispenser the cover 8 would be opened,dental floss 3 would be drawn through the apeture 2 to the cutting /holding device where it would be cut to -the desired length then cover 8 would be closed.
For use as a toothpas-te container/dispenser closure the invention would be either screwed on or press fi-t -to the toothpaste container/dispenser as required via either of items 5 or 7~

In drawings which illustrate the embodiments of the invention Figure I is an elevation în section of the invention as it applies to a tube type toothpaste container/dispenser.Figure 2 is an elevation in section of the invention as it applies to a pump type toothpaste container/dispenser.Figure 3 is a top view of both Figure I and Figure 2.

Claims

The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:
I A structure capable of housing and dispensing a material, the structure having a mating system allowing it to act as a closure for another container/dispenser.
2 A structure as defined in claim I where the structure houses dental floss and whose mating system acts as a closure for a container/dispenser of toothpaste.
