ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE
A felt pen comprises a bar shaped main body defined with linear line and taper line, and transparent caps for writing tips at the both ends of the main body. Each of the caps stands the main body thereon and it may be mounted on the other one.
Description
This invention relates to a felt pen, a more particularly to an improved pen which can stand on either of its two ends, has a good outer appearance, and preferably has tips whic.h are visible through transparent caps.
There have been many kinds of felt pens which have wriking portions at both ends, but all of them have disadvantages. The writing portions at both ends are for thick letter and thin letter, respectively, and they are invisible due to the covering caps. Therefore selection for use is confirmed by taking off either one. Further, since the pen cannot stand on its end, the lying felt pen often stains the papers.
In addition, since a main part around the thin letter end of the pen has not been given special attention to, it could slip out from the hand during writing.
This invention has been devised to avoid the disadvantages of conventional pens.
The invention seeks to provide a pen in which the outer shape of the pen has a linear line and a taper line to produce a modern typed appearance, and wherein the product can stand on either of its ends.
The invention also seel~s to provide a knurling on a grip of a small diameter part of the pen.
The invention also seeks to provide a pen in which the caps are of transparent material through which the capped tips are visible so that a fat square tip and a thin round tip can be recognized.

~2~4~
Still further the invention seeks to mount a rest cap on the other using cap.
Thus in accordance with the invention there is provided a felt pen, comprising a bar-shaped hollow body; an ink-impregnated sponge supported within the body, the body having two opposite ends; a writing tip mounted at each of the opposite ends, in the body; and a cap detachably--attachable to the body at each of the opposite ends to close the respective tips. The body has an outer shape, the shape being defined by a ]inear line and a taper line merging into the linear line, the linear line defining a first grip portion of the body and the taper line defining a second grip portion of the body. One of the writing tips being of a larger size and of a square cross-section and another of the writing tips being of a smaller size and of a round cross-section. The caps have each an end surface so that when the cap is attached to the body the latter can stand on the end surface of the respective cap. A first of the caps is of a larger outer dia-meter and a second of the caps is of a smaller outer diameter; the first cap is formed with one groove and the second cap i5 formed with another groove; the second cap is adapted to be mounted on the first cap such that the second cap is partially inserted into the groove of the first cap. The first cap is adapted to be mounted on the second cap.
In an especially preferred embodiments the caps are formed of transparent material.

In a further preferred embodiment the second grip portion is formed with a knurling on an outer surface.
The invention is further described by reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Fig. 1 is a front view of a felt pen according to the invention, and Fig. 2 is a cross sectional view of the above.
The invention will be explained with reference to the attached drawing. The numeral 1 is a bar like main body, an outer shape of which is defined with linear line and taper line.
The main body has a grip portion 2 of large diameter and a grip portion 3 of smaller diameter which is formed with a knurling 4 as a slip stopper. The main body 1 is defined with sleeves 5, 5a at its both ends, and there are provided a fat square tip 6 for thick letter on the sleeve 5 of the larger diameter and a thin round tip 6a for thin letter on the sleeve 5a of the small diameter.
The numeral 7 is a sponge-like ink impregnated part which is held within the main body 1, and tips 6, 6a com-municate with the ink impregnated part 7 at the inner endsthereof.
The numerals 8, 8a are caps of the large diameter side and the small diameter side of the main body 1. Both of the caps 8, 8a are formed with transparent materials, and can stand the main body lo The cap 8 is defined with a groove 9 on its head, and the other cap 8a i5 defined w.ith a groove 9a on its interior.
The grooves 9, 9a are convenient when the cap 8a of the small diameter side is ~ounted on the cap 8 of the large diameter side, as shown in Fig. 2 with phantom lines especially at the right side of the large diameter side. Contrary, the cap 8 of the large diameter side is only put on the cap 8a of the small diameter side. Since each of the caps can be fitted on the opposite one, it is convenient at using.
According to the present invention having been referred to, since the outer shape of the main body is defined with the linear line and the taper line, the appearance is good, and as the cap can stand the main body, the tip without the cap does not stain the papers.
I'he grip of the small diameter part is formed with the knurl-ing so that the felt pen does not slip out from the hand.
The both caps are made of the transparent materials, and the tips can be distinguished each other as the caps are used.
In a further preferred embodiment the second grip portion is formed with a knurling on an outer surface.
