Abstract
REDUçãO DE EMISSõES DE GáS DE ENXOFRE RESULTANTES DA QUEIMA DE COMBUSTìVEIS CARBONáCEOS. Um processo para queima de carvão ou outros combustíveis carbonáceos captura enxofre e outros compostos indesejáveis que são capturados e retidos em forma do tipo cerâmica não-reativa após a fase de combustão. O processo envolve adição de pós alcalinos de elementos múltiplos e/ou sorventes de preferência contendo ânions de oxidação tal como nitratos e nitritos, de preferência baseados em cálcio. Em várias modalidades, os materiais de remediação quando aplicados em um pó e/ou líquido complexo contendo elementos múltiplos, resulta em captura de enxofre maior do que os materiais conseguiriam de outro modo em uma base individual. Em uma modalidade preferida, os sorventes contêm elementos que minimizam ou diminuem o ponto de fusão da cinza, Isto leva à capacidade de coesão e formação de escória menor da cinza de modo que menos cinza se forma na caldeira e menor transferência de calor é obtida.
