Abstract
"CIRCUITO DE CARREGAMENTO DE BATERIA, MéTODO E SISTEMA PARA CARREGAR UMA BATERIA RECARREGáVEL PARA UM DISPOSITIVO PORTáTIL QUE UTILIZA ENERGIA FORNECIDA POR UMA PORTA DE BARRAMENTO SERIAL UNIVERSAL (USB)". Circuito de carregamento de bateria compreendendo: um comutador semicondutor (Q1) tendo uma saída conectada a uma bateria recarregável (24) ; uma controladora de carga de bateria (20) para recebimento de energia a partir da fonte externa, e fornecer energia de saída para um dispositivo portátil (18) e para a entrada do comutador semicondutor, a saída corrente da controladora de carga de bateria sendo controlável; e um circuito sensor de voltagem (30) para: medir a queda de voltagem através da controladora de carga de bateria, e responder à queda de voltagem através da controladora de carga da bateria por modulação do comutador semicondutor para reduzir a quantidade de corrente fornecida para a bateria recarregável quando a queda de voltagem for muito grande; através do qual a energia total dissipada pela controladora de carga de bateria é controlada, o dispositivo portátil recebe a energia necessária para operar e a bateria recarregável recebe o restante da energia disponível."BATTERY CHARGING, METHOD, AND SYSTEM CHARGING CIRCUIT FOR A LAPTOP DEVICE USING POWER SUPPLY FROM A UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS (USB) PORT". Battery charging circuit comprising: a semiconductor switch (Q1) having an output connected to a rechargeable battery (24); a battery charge controller (20) for receiving power from the external source, and providing output power to a portable device (18) and for the semiconductor switch input, the current output of the battery charge controller being controllable ; and a voltage sensing circuit (30) for: measuring voltage drop across the battery charge controller, and responding to voltage drop across the battery charge controller by modulating the semiconductor switch to reduce the amount of current supplied to the rechargeable battery when the voltage drop is too large; whereby the total power dissipated by the battery charge controller is controlled, the handheld device receives the power required to operate and the rechargeable battery receives the remaining available power.
