Abstract

IN DEVICE FOR AUTOMATIC SURF BOARD LEASH RETRACTION". The present invention relates to the improvement developed in a device for retracting the surfboard leash rope. The improved automatic leash retracting device comprises a domed cover (1) which is rotatably mounted on a flat base (2) and which has an internal spool (3) in which the cord (4) is wound. Between the spool (3) and the base (2) are mounted elastic means (5) which cause the spool to rotate in the direction of return of the rope (4). The cover (1) has a window (11) for the exit of the rope. A centrally integral shaft (12) in the cover (1) allows free rotation of the spool (3). The base (2) is fixed to the board and has a central hole (21) that shakes the shaft of the cover (12) allowing it to rotate freely. On the shaft (12) a washer screw (6) is threaded to keep the base (2) rotatably mounted on the cover (1) and closing the device. A distortion (7) is attached to the free end of the rope (4), which binds to the ankle of the sportsman. The elastic means (5) is preferably a tensile spring, especially blade type having an end that lodges in a slot in the shaft of the cap (12), while its opposite end is fixed in a slot of the spool. (3). A constructive option of the device presents the base with opposite eyes (22), so that it can be fixed to the ankle brace (8), with the free end of the rope (4) being fixed to the board (P) through the distortion ( 7). In this option, a tail protector (9) is used, arranged between the end of the rope (4) and the board (P), which prevents direct contact of these elements. This protector (9) can be made of elastic or rigid, and in this second variant the rope (4) is integrated with elastic means.
