The present utility model deals with strips for sandals that incorporate improved means for their installation on the sole of the same.

More specifically, the present utility model deals with strips for sandals that incorporate means to facilitate the installation and replacement operations. Preferably, the strips that the present utility model deals with are especially suitable for installation on rubber sandals, PVC or similar material.

In fact, the strips for sandals that are the object of this utility model provide the shoe with flexibility to change its aesthetic presentation, since the new form of strap fastening provides practicality in both the assembly and disassembly of the sole bases, where such operation can be easily performed by the end user.

In addition, this condition provided by the present utility model gives manufacturers of this type of footwear a differential in the way of presenting new models, thus enhancing their competitiveness in the highly dynamic fashion market.

As a consequence, the end user will have the possibility of enjoying various patterns of ornaments and different colors with a single sandal base, since they will only be able to purchase new models of loose straps.

Technical Rationale

Currently, the footwear industry is characterized by mass production, whereby new shoes are made ready to be used, allowing the end consumer, both men and women, to have access to a more affordable product when compared to those manufactured by hand.

Sandals represent a good example of this type of industrialization of footwear, notably those of the type that basically have straps attached to a sole.

The production of this type of footwear, generally made of material of a polymeric nature, shows that the strips are designed in such a way that they have their terminal ends in the form of cylindrical rods provided with a kind of button. Generally, these strips are assembled by compressing said end buttons over respective holes previously defined in the sole, thus providing a suitable fit.

However, the said straps, once fixed, do not allow their subsequent disassembly, under penalty of rupture of the terminal buttons or even the base of the sandal, thus rendering it permanently useless.

In addition, the natural use of this type of sandal can cause the straps to wear and tear, due to the effort exerted on their ends, even before the end of the sole or base's useful life. In these situations, these sandals, as a whole, become useless, forcing the user to purchase a new sandal just because of the wear of the straps. Evidently, this is a situation that the user would like to be resolved with less financial investment.

Some attempts at solution have been proposed and are made available by the state of the art, but they have nevertheless proved unsuccessful for the following reasons.

The document PI0306051-9, published on 16.08.2005, deals with a device for reusing strap sandals and a mounting system for said device, consisting of two pieces to overlap the end of the central rod of the straps when worn. A first split piece in a pivoting way totally involves the end of the strap (P) and partially a rod that crosses the base of the sandal. Said split part, which is provided with an external thread, is then totally surrounded by a second part through an internal thread, which is fixed on said external thread of the split part. However, this set around the end of the strap, when assembled, is positioned projecting beyond the surface of the sole of the sandal base, creating an uncomfortable protuberance for the user's walking, unsightly for the sandal set, difficult to assemble due to the split and expensive part, for needing two pieces with moldings of respective external and internal threads.

Document ΡΙ0604324-0, published on 10.06.2008, deals with means for fixing straps on the sole of sandals. Said means are constituted by the ends of the strips having the rods provided with internal thread that cross the sole and a movable part in the form of a button provided with a pin with an external thread. Said pin, after threading on the rods, they are housed in a recess provided on the bottom surface of the sandal sole. It is noted that this device also has parts with two threads for fixing, which requires precision molding and increases the production cost of the strips. In addition, both threaded parts must be installed both on the end of the strip rod and on the moving part with the aid of adhesives, which is a medium without adequate resistance to the stresses to which the strips are subjected. For these reasons, the means mentioned in this document are not accepted for the convenient use of this type of sandal.

The document MU8701510-2, published on September 29, 2009, deals with the means of fixing straps on the sole of sandals. Said medium is the same revealed in document PI0604324-0 and therefore has the same drawbacks inherent to that.

Brief Description of the Utility Model

The situations mentioned above motivated the development of a new model of straps for sandals, which provides ease and practicality in the assembly and disassembly operations on the sandal bases, by the end user himself.

The constructive provisions of the new strap model also allow the user to change the aesthetic characteristics of their sandals by interchanging the straps of one with those of the others in an easy, fast and practical way, creating their own combinations of patterns and colors.

For this purpose, the new model of strips for sandals has, at the ends of the rods that pass through the holes in the sandal bases, a fitting system comprising a fixed terminal portion in the shape of a button and a movable and detachable piece that fits in perfectly, totally involving it and forming the set of integral and firm fixation that lodges inside a lower housing existing at the base of the sandal and for this purpose, as usually exists in the state of the art sandal models.

Brief Description of the Figures

A better understanding of the strips for sandals that are the object of the present utility model will be provided by the description made below in relation to the attached schematic figures, which in an illustrative way, but limiting their constructive characteristics, represent a preferred constructive form of those referred to strips. These figures illustrate:

- Figure 1 - perspective view of the sandal straps, with respective moving parts highlighted;

- Figure 2 - side, front, perspective and top views of the mobile fixing part;

- Figure 3 - side, front, perspective and top views of the end of the strips;

- Figure 4 - side view of the assembly sequence of the moving part at the end of the main rod of the strips; and

- Figure 5 - side view of the assembly sequence of the moving part on the main rod of the strips.

Detailed Description of the Figures

According to the aforementioned figures, the strips for sandals that are the object of this utility model are common knowledge and comprise two side sections (1, 2) and a front main rod (3). Said side sections (1, 2) are provided at their ends with respective secondary rods (4, 5).

The rods (3, 4, 5) have ends provided with tips (6) specially developed to receive and fix a moving part (7), which has compatible internal and external structural characteristics to provide a perfect fit and secure fixation at the ends of the rods (3, 4, 5), as well as allowing a perfect fit of this set inside the housings of the lower surface of the sandal base (not shown), conventionally existing for this purpose.

The tips (6) of the rods (3, 4, 5) have the same shape and dimensions and comprise a base of general circular shape (8), having a frontal projection (9) that rises in relation to the upper surface of said base circular (8), at the limit imposed by the main rod (3), forming a lock (9) for the moving part (7).

As stated, the moving part (7) forms an intact set with the tip (6), which is why it has a shape and internal structural characteristics to allow proper fitting, firmly, in the tip (6). For this reason, said moving part comprises a circular body provided with a recess (10) that extends radially from the end to the limit imposed by the rear portion of the rod (3, 4, 5). The moving part (7) is cast (11) and involves the entire posterior portion of the tip (6), extending laterally to the limit of the lock (9), with whose front portion it cooperates in order to form a single piece. This configuration can be well observed in Figures 7 and 8. The moving part (7) also has a housing for the circular base (8), which is provided with a narrowing (11) suitable to allow the due and perfect lock fit (9).

The way of mounting the moving part (7) on the respective tips (6) is illustrated in Figure 4. The moving part (7) is inserted through the recess (10) by the rod (3, 4, 5) of the strip, as indicated by the arrow in (A), so as to surround the circular base (8) inside the housing (12), being fixed there by the lock (9), after moving downwards as indicated by the arrow in (B). The lock (9), thus adjusting itself in the recess (10), provides an intact and safe set of fixing the straps to the conventional housing of the sandal sole, for this purpose, as indicated in (C).

The disassembly of the straps is illustrated in Figure 5, being carried out in the direction indicated by the arrows in (D, E, F), thus allowing the sole to be separated from the strap easily and quickly.

It can be seen from what has been described and illustrated that the new arrangement of strips for sandals that are the object of this utility model conveniently solves all the problems of the state of the art mentioned above. Additionally, the new arrangement of strips for sandals represents an easy, fast and efficient way to change the strips of sandals, either to replace them, when necessary, or even for aesthetic reasons, providing a means of combining various patterns of colors or ornaments by simply changing the strips of the sandals.

It should be noted that the tips (6) as well as the moving parts (7), despite being indicated to be used in sandals of polymeric composition, can perfectly be used in similar sandals, assuming, even, other conformations than the circular, since that do not depart from the spirit and scope defined here, which is why they can be made of the most diverse materials and used in the most diverse types and models of sandals or slippers.
