Abstract
"REDE DE RáDIO TELECOMUNICAçõES". Rede de rádio telecomunicações integrada que integra uma rede comutada de circuito ANSI-41 e uma rede de dados por pacotes do Serviço de Radio Pacotes Geral (GPRS), para suportar uma estação móvel que opera em ambas rede ANSI-41 e rede GPRS. An interworking function (37) interfaces a mobile switching center (MSC) (23) on the ANSI-41 network with a service GPRS switching node (SGSN) (32) on the GPRS network, mapping circuit switched signaling used by the MSC in GPRS packet switching signaling used by SGSN, and mapping GPRS packet switching signaling in a circuit switched signaling. GPRS interworking base station controller (39) that interfaces the SGSN with a GPRS / ANSI-136 base station (26) that supports both ANSI-136 and GPRS operations. The GPRS interworking base station controller adapts the traffic signaling format used by SGSN to an air interface traffic signaling format used by the GPRS / ANSI-136 base station. An authentication center interface (F1) passes the authentication status of the mobile station between the home location register / ANSI-41 authentication center (HLR / AC) (21) on the ANSI-41 network, and a home location register / GPRS authentication center (HLR / AUC) (31) on the GPRS network.
