Abstract
Patente de Invenção: <B>"CéLULAS DE ALGODãO, PLANTAS E SEMENTES GENETICAMENTE MODIFICADAS PARA EXPRESSAR PROTEìNAS (LECTINAS) DE LIGAçãO DE CHITINA INSETICIDAS E FUNGICIDAS"<D>. Trata-se de genes quiméricos que codificam lectinas que exibem atividade pesticida (por exemplo, atividade inseticida e/ou atividade fungicida), os quais podem ser usados para transformar algodão para produzir células, plantas e sementes de algodão em que os genes quiméricos são expressos. Essas células de algodão transformadas são pesticidas quando ingeridas por pestes de algodão.
