São descritos pirazolilpirazóis substituídos por 1-metil-5-alquilsulfonila, 1-metil-5-alquilsulfinila e 1-metil-5-alquiltio da fórmula geral (I) como compostos de efeito herbicida. Nesta fórmula geral (I) R^ 1^ e R^ 4^ representam diferentes substituintes, R^ 2^ representa halogênio ou ciano, R^ 3^ representa ciano, nitro ou tiocarbamoíla e n representa 0, 1 ou 2.
