It is a package provided with a lid and a container that are thermally sealed together. a sheet of laminar material of multiple layers is obtained to be thermally shaped by defining the container which has a tapered wall and a bottom end resistant to the formation of bulges. Prior to the thermal conformation of the container from the sheet, the sheet is heated with oval contact plates on a plurality of sheets that are arranged in a configuration intended to facilitate the control of the sheet temperature. In the thermal forming process, a plug is used to contact the sheet and to position the sheet inside a die. A cover sheet is thermally sealed with the container sheet over the thermally shaped containers to produce a pair of annular shoulder thermal seals spaced apart. The packaging is completed by separating the sealed sheets with each other on the periphery of the container with a punch and die set that produces a clean and smooth cutting surface.
