Abstract

<B>USO DE BISSULFATO DE SóDIO COMO PRESERVATIVO ALIMENTìCIO<D> Um método para preservar ração animal envolve o tratamento da ração animal com um ácido inorgânico possuindo um pK~ a~ de cerca de 1,0 a cerca 5,0 para reduzir o pH da ração animal para menos do que 4,5. O bissulfato de sódio é um ácido inorgânico preferido. Preferencialmente, o ácido é substancial e completamente dissolvido e é substancial e uniformemente distribuido em toda a ração animal. Em um método preferido, a ração animal é tratada pela mistura da ração animal com um ácido seco e aplicação de vapor na mistura. Uma composição de ração animal contem um grão alimentício e um ácido inorgânico possuindo um pK~ a~ de cerca de 1,0 a cerca 5,0 onde o ácido está presente em uma quantidade suficiente para reduzir o pH da ração animal para menos do que 4,5.
