"TOXINAS DE PROTEìNA INSETICIDAS PROVENIENTES DE PHOTORHABDUS" Proteínas do gênero Photorhabdus são tóxicas a insetos mediante exposição. Photorhabdus luminescens (anteriormente Xenorhabdus luminescens) foram encontradas em amostras clínicas de mamíferos e como um simbionte bacterial de nematódeos entomopatogênicos do gênero Heterorhabdus. Essas toxinas de proteínas podem ser aplicadas a, ou geneticamente engenheirados em, alimentos ou plantas com larvas de insetos para controle de inseto.
