Abstract

a presente invenção se refere a um processo para a produção de glicóis, em que o processo compreende o contato de uma matéria-prima que contém sacarídeo com hidrogênio na presença de uma composição de catalisador e um solvente, em que o solvente compreende água e pelo menos 25% em peso, com base no peso total do solvente, de um ou mais álcoois selecionados a partir de um c1 a c6 álcool, um c1 a c6 poliálcool e uma combinação dos mesmos.
