Abstract
"CATALISADORES DE CIANETO DE DOIS METAIS QUE PODEM SER USADOS PARA PREPARAR POLIóIS E PROCESSOS RELACIONADOS COM OS MESMOS". A presente invenção refere-se a catalisadores de cianeto de dois metais ("DMC") que podem ser usados para preparar polióis. Os catalisadores de DMC da presente invenção são preparados pela combinação de i) pelo menos um sal metálico; ii) pelo menos um sal de cianeto metálico; iii) pelo menos um ligando complexante orgânico; iv) pelo menos um sal de metal alcalino; e, opcionalmente, v) pelo menos um polímero funcionalizado. A presente invenção também refere-se a um processo para preparar um poliol na presença de um catalisador de DMC da presente invenção ou preparado de acordo com a presente invenção. Surpreendentemente, os catalisadores de DMC da presente invenção, que de preferência são preparados com pelo menos um halogeneto de metal alcalino, têm atividade aceitável e podem ser usados para catalisar reações de oxialquilação. Além disso, os catalisadores de DMC produzidos pelo processo da presente invenção podem ser usados para produzir polióis que têm níveis reduzidos de cauda de alto peso molecular.
