Abstract
"COMPOSIçãO DE RESINA". Uma resina de hidrocarboneto é preparada (1) polimerizando-se termicamente uma mistura consistindo essencialmente de (a) cerca de 5% a 25% em peso de estireno ou estireno substituído por alifático ou aromático e (b) cerca de 95% a 75% em peso, baseados no teor total de monómero, de um componente de diolefina cíclico, compreendendo pelo menos cerca de 50 % em peso de diciclopentadieno. Um método de produzir uma resina modificada por aromático, tendo um Mz menor do que 2000 através da adição de cerca de 5% a 25 % em peso de estireno, em combinação com cerca de 95 % a cerca de 75 % de monómero DCPD, em uma taxa para consumir monómero de estireno na taxa em que é adicionado. A hidrogenação desta resina produz produtos coloridos claros, termicamente estáveis, que são úteis como agentes de pegajosidade de adesivos.
